Lower ds screen lights up and touch works but no picture?

Hello!

There are 2 things that may need to be done.

1.) Replace the lower LCD screen
2.) Replace the motherboard

Sometimes the motherboard causes problems with either the Upper or Lower LCD.

But, I would change the lower first.

There are websites on the internet that will show you how to do this.

Or , you could send it in for repair.

Lower screen is all white, upper screen is working fine.

I had this happen to myself. It's a bad LCD. You could try smacking it gently a few times(with the DS off) to see if that re-seats anything loose inside but you're probably gonna have to call Nintendo.

Blank Upper and Lower Screens

Try plugging it into the charger and turning it on. If it still doesn't work, you probably broke the internatl port for the charger which is why it's turning on then back off right away because it's not able to charge anymore. If you stil have your warrenty, I would try to take it back.

Left side of the screen not responding

  • Be sure that you're using only the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS Lite with the stylus. The upper screen is not a touch screen.
  • Unlicensed screen protectors can lower the sensitivity of the touch screen. If the problem you are experiencing started happening after you attached a screen protector, you may want to remove it. Please note that some screen protectors can leave behind a residue that may be difficult to clean. If you are planning on removing a screen protector that has been placed on your Nintendo DS Lite
  • If the touch screen is not responding when touched, or the accuracy of the screen is off, you may need to recalibrate the touch screen.
    1. Remove all games from the Nintendo DS.

    2. Turn the system on by pressing the POWER button.

    3. Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears.

    4. When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button.
    5. Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button.
    6. Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves.
      • You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start.
      • If the touch screen is not responding properly, hold the Nintendo DS at an angle so that you can see where the edges of the Touch Screen meet the housing of the system. Look around the entire edge of the Touch Screen for any foreign material (such as crumbs, etc.) that may be wedged in between the Touch Screen and the housing of the DS. Foreign material in this area can cause the Touch Screen to work incorrectly. If there are any visible particles, clean the screen.
      • If the above steps did not help, there is a problem with the system and it will need to be repaired.

    7. When complete, four squares will appear, allowing users to test the touch screen sensitivity. (Testing is optional.) Tap the "Confirm" button in the lower-right corner.

    8. Wait for the the confirmation message to disappear, then tap "Quit," then "Yes" to exit. The unit will shut down automatically to save the settings.

Both upper and lower screens are blank

You may be mistaking it saying it is charging with saying it is low battery. Green = Battery is well charged, Red = getting low, Flashing Red = Very low, Orange = Charging.
If you are certain that it is saying it is charged, charge it anyway, it probably is uncharged but is confused about whether it is charged or not. Remember that this is a machine: it has no brain, and cannot think for itself. All machines are stupid, they can only think what you tell them to think, and you have to be careful or it trips over itself and breaks.
