Question about Televison & Video
We connected a Laptop via svga and trid to turn on the TV. TV did not come on. So, we disconnected the svga cable and tried to turn on the TV. no luck. We checked the power outlet and power is there. Any ideas? I have one that is acting the same. It started with the screen going blank and would not turn off unless you unplugged it . Then it might work for a while and you would have to kill the power again. Now it wont do anything . Vizio says it is pretty much a throw away unless I want them to look at it , There has to be an easy fix out there for this ..HELP!!
My 32 inch vizio would not turn on and an HDTV technician came out to fix it because it was only 15 months old and he said it was the power board. He said every vizio he's worked on has been a bad power board.

You might be able to locate some capacitors in the power supply section and replace them. I'm not a Vizio expert but caps don't cost much and if you can use a soldering iron, it's worth a try before you decide to do something brash like throw it out.
