SOURCE: I recently moved and when I powered up my Hitachi
Check the lamp access door and make sure that it is completely closed. There are interlocks that prevent the unit from starting if the door is open. Also, it is possible that the move damaged the lamp as they are extremely fragile especially when older. If the door is not the problem, try replacing the lamp.
Update this if neither option resolves the problem.
Thanks,
Dan
SOURCE: I have a Hitachi 70 inch lcd rear projection tv
This is a well described problem with model #. Thanks for that. Now it could be a tv lamp at the end of its life if the tv lamp is around two years old. Its easy to change lamps and the procedure is explained in owner's manual. If the lamp was replaced recently or the problem stays even after changing the tv lamp, its the optical block going bad. That need professional help and you should not try to mess with it. Check out at www.fixurtvs.com These repairs could be expensive and may be wiser to go in for another TV.
