its free and spyware free, you dont have to install yahoo tool bar so uncheck it if you dont want it. go thru all tabs and clean computer, scan and fix registry errors. after complete Go into control panel.....open system icon......click on advanced tab.....click on preformance settings tab.....click advanced tab again....click on virtual memory change button...check custom button, change min size to 3000, max size to 5000. this will make 5 gig of hard drive to be used as more ram

I put a 2gb ddr2-667 memory chip in the single (only) memory slot in my gateway nx100x notebook pc. The pc will not boot up with the 2gb memory card. Is there a compatibility problem or do I have a ba

yes, there may be compatibility problem. your 2GB ram may be dead. try your 2gb ram on other notebooks. if it is working on other notebooks, then your ram is ok. your notebook will support maximum 2GB ddr2 memory per slot. your notebook may not be booting due to unsupported frequency of your ram. maximum supported frequency for your notebook may me 400Mhz, and you are putting a 667MHz ram into it. try to put a 400MHz 2GB ddr2 ram in your notebook.

Question Problems with DIMM slots !!!

Hello
Try installing the memory on one memory slot at a time to make sure that both memory slots are working ,try one memory by itself and then the other one.
If you install both at the same time example 2x 2gb ram and bios only sees 2gb and not 4gb then it's problem with one of memory slots and motherboard must be repaired.
You can try bios update:

Dear Expert, I have Asus motherboard P5S800-VM. Now,There is 1.5 Gb ram(512MB+1 GB).If I plug 2Gb ram (1+1), then PC is working very slowly. What can I do for this problem . ram:2x1Gb Kinsgton thanks

First verify that you are using the proper speed of RAM. Second, check the BIOS and make sure that recognizes the RAM you have installed. Sometimes you have to manually set the RAM size in the BIOS in order to get it to work. Finally, I have had several issues with Kingston RAM on different motherboards even when it is the proper type so you would want to try a different manufacturer.

What is the max ram speed my pc can take

According to some research, your desktop has 4 RAM slots available. The total maximum RAM your desktop can hold is 2GB (2048MB). Furthermore, each slot can hold a maximum of 1GB (1024) but cannot exceed the 2GB total.
This means you can theoretically install 2 x 1GB RAM DIMMS in 2 RAM slots or 4 x 512MB RAM DIMMS. Both will meet the desktops 2GB limitation.
The RAM specifications for your desktop are as follows:
RAM Limit: 2GB (2048MB) RAM Slot Type: SO-DIMM RAM Type: DDR1 (not DDR2 or DDR3) RAM Speed: PC3200/DDR400 ECC Type: Non-ECC
TIP: The RAM is DDR which means that while you can install them as singles (single-channel mode), the system will see a speed benefit from installing them as matched pairs (dual-channel mode).

Just tried running restore and now have blue screen

Compaq are a bit fussy with RAM and usually don't like mixed RAM - brand, speed, & sometimes size.
You model may not support more than 2GB, check the specs..
Try inserting a single 2Gb RAM to see if it works.
If it dosen't work and the laptop won't support more than 2Gb, you may need to install two 1Gb RAM modules.

Connecting blu ray dvd from pc to tv

Hello,

How much memory do yo have? For a really good showing, you should have at least 4GB RAM. (The max for 32-bit operating systems. Also, when you play your movie, I would suggest closing any application that you do not need running in the background, especially if you have less than 2GB RAM. Good Luck.

HP Pavilion DV2000 running very slowly

Yes! I would not recommend anything below 2GB at minimum. I have one laptop with 2GB and one with 3GB: they both open programs and browse the internet very quickly. Even with just two programs open (Internet Explorer and Outlook 2007) it uses 1.1GB of memory.

Definitely upgrade your memory. I recommend this site:
http://www.4allmemory.com/

Just pick your model and they recommend the memory to pruchase. TIP: order with next day shipping - it's only $10. The free shipping takes 14 days. So unless you're patient (I'm not) the $10 many be worth it.
