Hi Frank try to transfer those songs from your computer with the use of USB or pair the device with the bluetooth:
USB:- connect your phone with the USB to the charging port, once device is detected try to move files (your computer will ask you anyway which disc/or device would you like to transfer them?
Bluetooth: you have to add pair your phone to your computer first by adding device to your bluetooth in you pc.. once your phone is added to paired devices you'll find an option to "send files to your phone"
feel free to comment back should you need further clarification how to do it. thnx
Open device manager on pc
goto to ports section
while mobile attached with usb
there should be Mobile port line
right click it choose uninstall
remove usb
restart computer
reconect usb and mobile
everything should be ok
But there is a software i would personally recommend to you.
Name of software is "Sakis3g". It can connect to mobile phones and other mobile devices which can be detected by linux kernel. You can use IR, Bluetooth, even USB cable to connect to your device.
You can use this software for the following
connect to mobile devices by IR, bluetooth, USB Cable
Send and receive files between computer and device
Access Internet from Device by Dial Up Networking
Browse files on Mobile device
Mount the mobile device on a user specified mount point or communication port. Usually it mounts connected mobile device to /dev/rfcomm0. Through this port, you can communicate with the device .
Connect to USB Modem (Like Reliance DataConnect, TATA Photon, IDEA Netsetter etc.)
ability to connect to any locked/unlocked USB Internet Modems (Zero Devices)
fully automated connection setup. No manual input is needed except to specify connection name.
Sakis3g Homepage may not specify anything about connecting a mobile phone to computer and using it as an Internet Modem, but trust me its possible. Meanwhile I'm posting this by using DUN with the help of this script.
Just Run the script
choose Connect
Select Bluetooth
It will search for a new bluetooth device
Once your phone is detected, Select it and press ok
when it asks for APN (Access Point Name) provide it
When it asks for user name and password, Provide it. If your service provider do not need any username and password to access internet , Don't just leave it as blank (Program doesn't accepts empty user name and password. you just press space and enter)
Once all necessary informations are entered program may simply closes. Don't worry your connection manager will show this new connection entry.
To Disconnect the connection , you can select Disconnect option in Sakis3g.
many mobile phone companies dont provide drivers for linux.

For Vista or 7 use this "windows mobile device center" Then conect this port (below) to your computer with a usb cable. It should have come with your phone. Then you can browse the device using "my computer" and it should show up as an additional drive letter or "mobile device" See pic, its the only port on this end,
1. Go to the Windows Desktop, click on the "Start" button, and then click "Run" or "Start Search" if you are using the Windows Vista operating system. 2. Type the following text into the text box: 3. "devmgmt.msc" Click OK. 4. Select your computer when the Device Manager window opens, and then select "Action" from the options at the top of the window. 5. Choose the "Scan for hardware changes" option from the drop down menu that appears. 6. Insert any USB device such as a mouse or flash drive into the USB port in question. Now simply check the USB device to see whether it is working in order to test the port. Try resetting the device it?s usually a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds OR Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturers website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
Some USB devices draw excessive power from the USB port, especially USB scanners. When this happens you need a powered USB hub, connect this to your computer's USB port and connect the USB device into the powered USB hub, you should not have any further error power surge problems.
You don't need a driver for this MP3 player in order for it to be recognize by your computer, just need to connect it properly to a USB port on your computer and wait for about 30 seconds to a minute for your computer to fully recognize and install the necessary drivers that it needs, if its not recognize by the computer try to connect it on a different USB port on your computer....
