I have trouble setting up my 50 inch T.V. It is connected to a VCR/DVD player recorder. I have a red, yellow, and white cable. Do I need anything more?

If possible use a AV SCART connection lead as you get audio & video! If you want to use the phono connection you need to connect all 3 red/white/yellow to the TV and the VCR/DVD! Red & white are audio, yellow video!

Connecting VCR ,cable box, TV

First connect the cable box to TV using HD-cable (if connection available) or component cable (three leads) observing the colors. Connect cable box to VCR with an S-video cable or SCART if you have an S-video out scart. Connect VCR to TV with another S-video cable (round connectors) or with a scart to an S-video in scart connection. If you are in the US, the scart connections don't apply.

I had the same problem with a wii and I ran it through a scart block with the audio-video red white & yellow inputs on opposite side and it did the trick for me , as there is only one scart on my tv Im going to have to get a scart multi switching block to connect my dvd & video , these can be picked up for around a tenner hope this solves your problem . @hotmail.comsir i got panasonic nv-fj620b-k vcr, when i connect vcr with tv i have only audio not video, kindly let me know which type of cable i may use to get connected properly regards

Depends how you are connecting at the present. If you use a Scart, make certain it's a good one as the pins are easily damaged and can cause loss of picture.

VHS to Easy capture to computer

The plugs you speak of are called RCA plugs, (Male side has an outside ring with "slots" around the edge, and a pin in the center. Female side has a short round "riser" with a hole in it). You need just standard Audio/Video hookup cables, available at any electronics store.. Walmart/Target/Kmart has them in the TV section. They get plugged into the Audio (Red & White) OUT of the VCR, into the Audio IN (Red & White) of the Easy Capture. The Yellow lead is for Video In/Out between the VCR and Easy Capture. The black is probably the S-Video connector, (round, has very small square hole, surronded by 4, 5, or 7 tiny pin holes) that can be also used to connect video/audio between VCR(if so equipped) and Easy Capture. Get a set of audio/video dubbing cables (abt $10 usually), connect Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow. Plug the Easy Capture USB cable into your computer (most likely), start the capture program. Start your vcr, hit Play. You should see your vcr tape playing on the computer screen.

I connected my new tv with a dvd-vhs player, i can see the dvd but it has no sound can you help me

If you are using a Scart connector, make sure it is fully pushed into the scart sockets on both the TV & DVD, If you are using composite cables (3 leads coloured yellow/whie & red), ensure the red & white cables are coming from the Audio Out on the DVD & going into the Audio IN on the TV. The yellow one will be correct as this is the video content.

Trying to import analogue video from VHS

I _assume_ you're feeding PAL video into the MV500i... one of the simplest ways to lose color information is to feed an NTSC (or PAL60) source to a standard PAL display.

Another possibility is that you're losing the chroma signal. I believe this camcorder has a composite (CVBS) analog input. If you're tapping off a SCART connector, make sure you use a SCART to composite cable, not SCART to Y/C (luminance/chroma). Are you using the same cabling with the camcorder as with the TV?

Video output from VHS recorder

does your television have multiple scart connectors? Sometimes some models have only 1 connector that will accept RGB signals... Another thing you can check are VCR settings - scart component video output is not "official" and hence you might need to look at some of the setting if you need to enable it. Another possibility is that your scart cable may not have your rgb signals connected (based on wikipedia reference: "not all SCART cables make use of all the pins, often leaving out RGB signals. In many cases there is also no way to see which type of signal that is currently displayed on the TV set."
