Question about Canon CanoScan 4200F Flatbed Scanner
I followed all the instructions but cannot get the scanner to work. I get an error message about the TWAIN.
The application program is not TWAIN-compliant.
Start ScanGear from an application program that is TWAIN-compliant.
An error message appears and the ScanGear window fails to appear. Solution 1: Reattach the USB cable and AC adapter. Only use the supplied USB cable and AC adapter with the scanner. Solution 2: Attach the USB cable to a different USB port on the computer itself (not a hub). Solution 3: If a USB hub is used for the connection, do not use it. Attach the cable to a USB port on the computer itself (not the hub). Solution 4: Install the software from the accompanying CD-ROM. Solution 5: Scanner may not be selected. Select your scanner from [Select Source]. Solution 6: Make sure that the application is TWAIN-compliant. You cannot use ScanGear with an application that is not TWAIN-compliant. Solution 7: Quit ScanGear if running the scanner driver with another application program.

It looks like the computers have a hard time communicating with the scanner it will be advisable to download all the current firmware available, her is the link:
This should take care of the problems.
