Blinking wash cycle lights

My Kenmore is unresponsive. I have already detailed my problem in a previous posting. I have thoroughly checked out the appliance; resistance readings are normal, disassembled interior and checked motor blade assembly and rotation. Replaced control board; no change. A friend suggested I replace the front panel as well in that it works in unison
with the control board. Is this a common procedure?
