Question about Dell Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Everytime I turn on my computer, which is a Dell laptop btw, it runs fine but then comes to a screen that says a file is corrupt or damaged and I must insert the windows setup CD to repair and to press 'r' at the first screen. Well I tried this and nothing happened. Help!
What if you do not have the disk .. whatcan you do .. ?

As long as you seem to have the installation setup disc.. put the CD into the drive and power up the system, IF you have your pc set to boot from cd it should give you the option to Repair or Start a fresh install,, if you have no issues with losing everything then do the full fresh install but hopefully the repair function will kick in when you boot from the cd
If this doesn't work then try pressing the F11 key while the system is starting and hold it until the restore or repair screen comes up

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
