Question about Canon PowerShot A95 Digital Camera
My camera is about 2 years old. Recently I was trying to take pictures and the shutter button seems to be stuck in the down position. When I try to move the zoom lever in or out, a picture is taken automatically. The camera will not let me look at pix in review mode either or get to any of the menus. If I press the shutter button a pix is automatically taken. It seems to be stuck in auto mode, but I'm unable to do anything. Taking batteries in and out and taking memory card in and out doesn't help either.
Being very careful, follow this pictorial disassembly (it's in Estonian, but just follow the pictures). Don't go any further than popping the top off the camera! Look for anything obviously broken off near the vicinity of the shutter button, or looking very different than what's in the pictorial. Keep in mind it's amazing what you can do with a little glue and scrap pieces of plastic:
