Cant get two computers connected to the internet

There are to many ways try this,
Switch on the router.
Connect both pc's to the network.
NOTE Down The pc's IP Address.
Example:-
Pc1:- 192.168.1.20
Pc2:- 192.168.1.21.

If you want see pc2's hard disk on pc1.
Open the 'run' window and then type :-
\\192.168.1.21\c$
This will take some time.
It will ask you for your Pcname\Username & Password. Type them and click ok.
Your Done!
If you want to see pc1 on pc2 type:-
\\192.168.1.20\c$.

if fails
you can use remote destop application that is built-in in Windows based computers to share resources between 2 computers, and even totally control 1 remote computer:

How to configure the WGR614 v9.using cable router to pc1 to pc2?

Well, if you are using wired connection from the router to the pc2 then you need to check for the cable connected between the router and this computer. You may try changing the cable and check if that resolves the issue.
For wireless connectivity, please perform the below steps to configure settings
1. Right click on My Computer icon and go to Manage.  2. Go to Services then go to Service and Applications.  3. Double click on Wireless Zero Configuration.  4. Change the Start Up Type to Automatic and click on Apply  5. Click on Start and press OK to close the window.  6. Go to 'Control Panel', Click on Classic View in the left hand side menu and then open 'Network Connections'. 7. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'Properties'.  8. Go to the 'Wireless Networks' tab .  9. Check the option 'Use Windows to Configure this Wireless Connection' and click 'OK'.
Now please perform the following instructions to connect to the wireless network:
1. Go to 'Control Panel', Click on Classic View in the left hand side menu and then open 'Network Connections'. 2. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'Properties'.  3. Click on the 'wireless network' tab. 4. Under Preferred networks if you see any name in the list then highlight the name and click remove. Click OK. 5. Right-click on the wireless Network Connection icon and select 'View Available Networks'. 6. Look for the SSID (aka Network Name) of the Wireless router or access point.  4. Highlight thee SSID from the list that you want to connect to.  5. Type the security Key here and click on the 'Connect' button.  6. You should have successfully established a wireless network connection.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Computer says connected to internet,, wont display page

usually routers are setup using DHCP... on your second computer. try going to
start, control panel,  networkconnection,  "your LAN connection",\ properties Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (should be checked)
Obtained Ip address automatically should be selected
Obttained Dns server automatically should be selected.
then click OK, OK to save settings...

if your router is not setup as a DHCP,it would require you to setup your ip address manually... let me know if this dont work, so  i can help u setup manually...

if it helps, try comparing the settings of your pc1 and pc2 (the network connection settings)

2 Eth Cards one for Internet & one for LAN

First of all, I would really recommend you to buy a Cable/DSL router. It is quite cheap, usualy more secure, much easier to configure and troubleshoot. Also, it does not require to have one PC up and running all the time, hense saving energy. Do you know that a PC running 24/7 may cost between 60$ and 100$ in electricity annually? This is more than the cost of a basic router!

But, since your question is about sharing your Internet connection with a PC, here are some guidelines. I will assume here that you are using Windows XP.

On PC1:
1. Connect the modem to Eth0 in the PC. Do not connect anything in the USB port of the modem.
2. Make sure that the link lights are lit both side. If they are not, you may need a cross-over cable (this is usualy not the case)
3. Configure Eth0 to get IP address DNS automatically
4. Disable (uncheck) all protocols except TCP/IP on Eth0.
5. Run the Network Setup Wizard (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard) and follow the steps.

On PC2:
Simply run the Network Setup Wizard (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard) and follow the steps. Specify and you Internet connection is through a Home or LAN network.

That should do it.

Ef3116 has different up and down speed.

PC1 may have a defective NIC card. Also, verify that PC1's NIC card is using an up-to-date driver and that it's interface speed and duplex settings are set to auto-negotiate.

You need to go to control panel>network set up wizard on the pc which has the internet connection and when you go through the wizard amongst prompts select, allow other computers to connect through this computer and then finish off the wizard. On the other computer you do the same but, on this one select this computer connects via another computer on the network and again finish off the wizard.
