Replace a fuse on GE Profile model jvm1871SH02

Unplug microwave or shut off house breaker. Remove grill or cover that goes across the top of door and control panel.Remove screw that holds control panel on and lift up on control panel. It will tilt downward and has 2 tabs at the bottom that go into slots. It can be lifted out of those slots. The fuse should be seen at the top area in the microwave behind where the control panel was mounted. Fuse is usually small 1/4 round type fuse like old type car fuses that were glass but the micro fuse will be either a white of gray ceramic fuse not glass. Some are 15 amp some are 20 amp. Usually stamped on end of fuse.

How do I change the light bulb in a KCM155j Mircowave

Most microwaves have a shield over the light bulb in the cooking compartment. Some are accessed from the outside most from the inside. Check to see if there are clips or screws that need to be removed to pull the shield off. Careful if there are screws, they are usually coated to prevent the waves from arcing if you crack or break off the coating you could have problems with the microwave arcing

KitchenAid KCMC155J 1000 Watts Convection / Microwave Oven - how to change the light bulbs - can this be done without having to call a tech?

The service number for this microwave is 1-800-422-1230. I have seen this question posted on several sites with no answers. Also, I checked the Owner's Manual and I do not see an answer to this question. If I had to guess, I would say that if there is no access from the inside of the microwave, you may have to remove it from the wall as the access might be on the back of the unit.

AFTER 12 MONTHS ON NO PROBLEMS IT WONT WORK. IT DOESNT GIVE ME DISPLAY LIGHTS OR ANY.

most likely the internal fuse
be soooooooooo carefull in replacing this , the capacitor inside the machine can store a huge charge

  1. Turn off all electricity to the microwave and unplug from the wall socket. Move the unit to a well-lit location to better see the appliance.
  2. Step 2 Usea schematic for the particular model of microwave being worked on tolocate the area containing the fuse to be replaced. Fuses can belocated behind the microwave door or behind a panel either on theinterior wall or an exterior panel. Often the fuse will be behind apanel located under the louver vents on top of the microwave.
  3. Step 3 Removethe panel according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use a screwdriver to remove screws and set aside for replacement.
  4. Step 4 Locatethe blown fuse and check with a voltmeter. This step ensures that theproblem with the microwave is indeed a blown fuse and not anotherissue. Check for current between fuse connectors.
  5. Step 5 Take the blown fuse to a local hardware or store such as Lowe's or Home Depot. Staff can assist in finding the exact replacement fuse for the model being repaired.
  6. Step 6 Placethe new fuse into the panel in exactly the same fashion as the blownfuse came out. Replace any panel using the removed screws and returnthe unit back to its proper location.
  7. Step 7 Plugthe microwave into the wall socket and turn on all electricity. Testthe unit by ensuring the clock and all other features function.
