Question about Intel DG31PR Motherboard
Bought a second hand pc. audio works with pleomax usb speakers but not with headset with mic. i tried upgrading win xpro to serv pack 3 and did a number of checking. now i lost even the sound from my usb plug-in speakers.
Funny that you brought up the service pack 3. When I used it once and let it be downloaded, it totally disabled my computer to the point that I had to re-install windows XP Home. What is the solution? For me it was the complete and total hard format. This means that I had to buy and add to my arsenol, the hard erase system called "Killdisk". Even though what I used took everything to a zero level, I am sure that after the third time, there was not left even the slight amount of signal. Then I started with installation of the Windows XP Home, antivirus from avast and all the other programs, in drive "C:", which before running them, I installed them in drive "D". Another software I needed and I have it now for years, is a "Partition Commander". The "F-Disk" that comes with win xp, I find it inadequate and combersome. Lots of people prefer the Magic Partition, but I find the Commander to be most convenient for me. After the hard erase, I ran the Partition Commander and I partitioned the 80GB hard disk into smaller partitions. C @ 20GB, D @ 15GB and three more E,F and G at 15GB each. In this way, if I ever have a problem I will not have to do all this work all over. You have to be careful fooling around with unknown to you equipment. Before you did anything with the computer, you should have read others talking about the SP3. Unfortunately, neither you nor I did pay any attention and took it forgranted that Microsoft thoroughly tests all their products. I tried to make it as simple as possible, but feel free to get in touch with me in case of trouble. Sometimes, it is possible to lose the video driver or the audio driver. In that case, get in touch and we will download you what you need. Do you feel better now? <email@example.com> My name is Constanti.
