Question about Samson Q7 Professional Microphone

1 Answer

Bought the Q7 mic .. doesn't work with my G-Dec Junior Fender Amp

Thought I could just plug in my Q7 mic to my G-Dec junior fender amp but it doesn't work.  What do I need now.  Would a pre-amp solve my problems.  This is not for professional use just guitar playing and singing at home.

If your amp has 2 inputs, you will need to rewire your standard mike cable as follows. Go to http://s3.amazonaws.com/samsontech/related_docs/Q7_ownman_v1s.pdf for the wiring diagram. If you aren't comfortable with doing this go to a music store and explain your problem and ask if they have a low to high impedance adapter with an XLR on one end and a 1/4" plug on the other. Hope this helps.

Try changing out the Pico fuse. Only 50cents from online West Florida Components. Buy a few. Mine went out twice. It is Item # F021. It is a .5amp (500 mA)fuse-green and looks like a resistor. Location on the circuit board is near the transformer and on back edge or board behind the 2 brown wires connecting to the board and to the side of the 4 diodes there. I left the bad fuse in place and soldered the new fuse to it's legs-a lot easier and does not damage the PCB.

I bought my g-dec jr form ebay last summer and really like this little amp but this past winter I went to use it, it worked for 3 to 5 min and shut down, but the power light just blinked moderately. I...

This amp uses a TDA2050 chip that has thermal protection. It is also a small amp that is NOT capable of high sound levels. If *********** can't stand to be within 5 feet of this amp you are playing TOO LOUD for this amp and it will shut down until cooled off to protect the amplifier chip. This amp is intended for practice. It would be adequate for sensible listening level in a 10 foot by 10 foot room. If you need more sound you will have to get a bigger amp. I would suggest you get a sound meter and verify the sound level. DO NOT exceed 4 hours at 90 DB... I know a lot of deaf musicians that have lost their hearing and they are not much good anymore.

Fender acoustasonic junior crackling loudly and electronic buzz when touch volume knobs

noise problem with fender jr accoustatics is the poor aluminum sheet ground design that wraps around the body of the amp. it happens to me all the time because i kept on moving/carrying/dropping the amp every time we do church service. i am thinking of using an aluminum cable to wrap around outside the body.

Pro Junior III Guitar Amplifier - Hello,When I turn it on there is loud buzzing noise that does not change with volume. Thanks

There is likely one of three problems:

Blown rectifier in power supply.

Bad filter capacitor(s) in power supply.

Shorted power amp chip causing the riple on the power supply to reach the speaker.

I just bought a used fender pro junior amp and even when the volume is put at the highest level its not at all loud.

Does your PRO have a MASTER volume and a CHANNEL volume? Make sure that both are turned up.
