Question about Acer Aspire 5050-3242 Notebook
I am afraid to shut down. These would only work in safe mode. I could not get to my major information. This went on for a week. I kept trying to get it into normal to access what I needed but the keys just wouldn't work. I finally pulled out the battery and tried typing my passcode really fast in normal mode and it accepted the code. It's great that I can access my information, but I need to install updates and I keep getting the "shut computer down" prompt for the updates to take effect and I'm afraid I won't get back in. Any suggestions for a fix on this?
Sounds to me like you are having a computer virus. The best thing to do here is to go first into safe mode and restore your system to a previous date a couple of days before this problem of yours started. try scanning your system. if it does not work in safe mode and you really need to go into normal mode. when you get the message immediately click on start then run. in the run window.. inside that text box, type in "shutdown -a". that would prevent you from restarting. do the scan from normal mode.
