HI, Looking at the idler assembly from the back, move the idler wheel to the left (spring loaded).
Slip the belt on the motor pulley with ribs touching pulley. Now let the idler pulley rest againdt the back side of the belt.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can help further.

How to put belt back on drum on my dryer

You have to take the back off of the dryer and see the motor pully and the idler pully. slip the belt around the drum, around the mototr pully and usind a flat blade putty knife, work the belt over the idler pully so that it puts tension on the belt. you may have to loosen the idler pully housing bolts, but try it first with working it over the idler as that was set for optimum tension.

Look up "Tension Pully & Belt Diagram" on internet for your dryer on google or Dogpile. You should be able to find how to
put the Tension Pully back where it belongs & how to thread the belt through it and back on to the motor drive shaft. Check different sites for the right picture for your dryer. Here's a picture to get you started. Good luck,

I cannot find the manual for my DPSB3620 GE Profile Dryer. It turns on but nothing moves and I can't seem to be able to open the back

the only panel in the back that can be removed is at the bottom where the vent hose hooks up....the way to get to the belt is. remove the screws where the lint screen pulls out ...pop the top section of the dryer...their are 2 clips in the seam at the top of the dryer ....about 2 inches from the edge use a flash light to see them ...use a screw driver ....go between the horizontal seam at the top to pop ..then their are 4 screws holding the front of the dryer.2 at the top .2 at the bottom ..only loosen bottom screws do not remove them ..then the front of the dryer with the door can be removed ..now you can install the new belt ...remove the lower panel in the back to see motor ...the drum pully //tensioner this is where you put the belt on the pully ..let me know ..if you need more help....good luck../joe

Do not bend the rod you are not threading the belt right I had the same problem with one. Try searching the internet for how to thread the belt on a GE dryer. It has to go around the pullys a different way. Hope this helps.

Dryer won't tumble

are you sure you installed the belt properly ? a lot of dryers have an idler pully that the belt has to go through to create the correct amount of tension. that's about all there is to check

Fixing a gas dryer belt

That I believe is an older model GE with the idler bar instead of the short bar. I believe there is also a rear panel that you can remove to gain access to it. I dont remember for sure if it keeps tension up or down. Loop your belt around the motor pully, then find out which way it keeps tension on the belt, then loop the belt around the idler pully and release so that it keep tension on the belt itself. Let me know if you need further information.
