Problem for LG DR787T DVD Recorder

When I put a blank disc into this recorder it starts the initialise process, as described in the manual, but never stops initialising. The T.V. screen shows the progress of the 2 minute process but at the end of that the DVD recorder itself still shows "initialise" on it's screen. Due to this I am also unable to open the drawer & get the DVD out.
Please help, this is driving me crazy.

hi!we have read your problem.please dont worry, every problem hasa solution.all you have to do is buy a dvd lens cleaner and clean the4 dvd lens since dust particles on lens will delay the processes.but make sure you are not using detergents or plain water to clean it and never touch the lens with bare hands hope your problem is tackled.have a nice day.

it sounds like the dvd drive either is stuck or the drive is bad ....if its stuck you'll need to open it up ,unplug first ,then look for the lens cable and push it towards the beginning of the dvd (inside) and then start it up without closing it up ..... if it reads you're fortunate ,if the drive is bad it will not read still ..... in this case unplug again and take out the small screws that is holding the dvd in the drive and take out your dvd .....there are normally one screw on either side of it ....hope this helps ....
