Question about Smeg 24 in. DWF614SS Stainless Steel Free-standing Dishwasher

1 Answer

Continuous squeeky noise from underneath the burners.

We have moved into a new house which was equiped with a SA9065XNG smeg free standing oven/cooktop. It keeps on making this sueeky noise, pemanently, which sounds like it's coming from underneath the burner or behind the clock. No idea what it is. Maybe a fan?... How can I fix this problem? Thank you.

Permanently? A fan will come on when using fan forced, another fan will come on(approx 5-10 minutes) later, which is the cooling fan,and can run for up to an hour after turning off. Turn off oven at mains to determine if it is electrical related fault.

This model might have a rottiserie. An approximate 10mm hole in rear wall of oven. Your rottiserie motor might be running continuously, and can be disconnected.

We have the same problem with a SMEG 900mm freestanding stove/oven. It has no rotisserie function at all. Some days the squeaking gets ridiculously loud. I've discovered that rotating the mechanical timer clock dial temporarily subdues the noise. But it comes back again within a day or two. So I'm pretty sure it's related to the mechanical/electrical timer (not digital on our model). Any ideas how we could disconnect the timer or some other permanent solution?

DWF614SS smeg dishwasher E8 error code

Thanks to hijoloo for pointing me in the right direction. The offending part is the diverter valve, a paddle inside blocks one of two outlets in turn actuated by a micro switch, a motor and reduction gears. Check switch for continuity with multimeter (ohms) then check motor and gears turn freely by hand. My problem was a stiff paddle due to limescale. Soak in boiling water to free off then oil cog (externally) and rebuild.
turn the washer on its side and open up the bottom black plastic plate, than disconnect the two black hoses from the white pumphouse in the middle of the washer. disconnect the connector and open carefully the housing by removing two screws and the motor. check the switch and clean the white housing. Check also if there is nothing inside the rotorhouse. after this build every thing back and hope that its running. it worked for me. succes!

NO WATER COMING THROUGH ON DISHWASHER JUST LOUD BUZZING NOISE

The buzz that you hear is the water line solenoid. It probably is not opening up to let the water through. You should replace this solenoid and it will fix your problem as long as you have water coming up to the diswasher's solenoid valve.

My Smeg dishwasher DWF 64 SSE won't go onto rinse or dry

Easy one first try this to see if it helps

Water pre-heating
Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water.

To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater.

Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
