LED Display quit working

We have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix with a Monsoon Audio System. For some reason the LED display mysteriously disappeared. The stereo system still works but we cannot see the station or EQ information. This happened once before and my son pushed a button and got it to come back on, but we cannot seem to find that magic button again. I'm not sure what the model number is since it is not printed on the front of the unit. It is a single CD stereo system and does not have XM capabilities. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, J

Do you have a check engine light on? If not then you have a defective gage, the gage is a computer generated display and you will need to remove the instrument cluster and send it out to be rebuilt. Cost about $250

My JVC cd receiver model Kd R-310 reads protect on the display and won't work. I cut the wires to try to install it in my 2002 grand am. Can this be fixed?

Repair cost would exceed replacement cost. Try disconnecting all the speakers and see if it works then. Try reconnecting each speaker by itself and see if that causes the problem. Most grand am have the monsoon sound syatem...even if they aren't labeled as such. Pull the carpet in the trunk on the left (drivers) side wheel well. The monsoon amp is located over the wheel if you have a monsoon system. If you have to remove the amp then you must change the speakers out or rewire them as the monsoon system uses bi amp speakers. Most of the ga forums have extensive write ups on this system.

Display keeps resetting on 2004 grand prix

sounds like you got a bad wire, when you crank the engine its pulling all voltage away from it and causing the reset, for the proper repair consult the dealer or certified garage as there are many wires and many grounds that can cause you to loose power to other unrelated devices in your car

My radio is not working in my car. It was fine and then one day it just wasn't working; which has also affected my door chimes. I've checked the fuses and wiring and everything seems to be fine. ...

Get a new radio. Or an aftermarket radio with $180 adaptor. Sucks, but the radio ties into the security of the car, which may be effecting your starter. Sorry, these are probably the only options.
