Re: Require switch for dishwasher

Check with  All you have to do is type in the model number and manufacturer and there should be a complete illustrated parts listing.  The cost is cheaper than buying from an appliance dealer and the shipping is reasonable.  The parts will be shipped directly to you and usually ship within 7 days (I believe you can pay extra for express shipping).  I've used this web site to repair my own appliances before, and it's one that you will have to bookmark and use in the future.  Make sure you get the EXACT model number from the appliance.  Otherwise, you may have trouble getting the site to search correctly, and/or the right part.  Good luck to you.

What are the dimensions?

You are missing a digit in the model number. KitchenAid Dishwashers have a number (0-6) after the SS.

The KUDI01FLSS0 installation guide gives the dimensions of the dishwasher opening and the unit itself on various pages. See . The top vent and the front vent KUDI01FLSS model washers are slightly different. The front vent dishwasher dimensions are 33 7/8" H (with the wheels removed) x 23 7/8" W x 24 7/8" D (including the handle). The top vent model is only 24 1/2" deep. With the wheels in their lowest position, the opening for the dishwasher must be 34 1/2" high (from floor to the bottom of the counter top).

I hope this helps. Other KitchenAid appliance manuals are available here: . Use the search box to enter the model number and use the drop down menu to select Consumer.

Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDD01DPPA0 lower drawer has no lights on start/stop badge and that drawer will not run.

hello, this is the schematic for your entire machine in case you ever do need it in your manual it would say what the start stop badge means If this unit is new do not attempt to repair the unit as it would be warrantied and you would void your warranty and I think it is still warrantied seeing how there is no manual online available yet if your unit is not warrantied and you require further diagnosis please message me back and I will look further into your situation Thanks Rick
p.s the stop badge could mean you have a blockage in your drain area but need clarification on your warranty information first Thanks again Rick

Dishwasher will not run. I have checked the circuit breaker and it seems fine. does the dishwasher have a reset button?

Hello there:
My dishwasher will not work at all. Investigate these four areas if your dishwasher is not working at all:

Power Supply

Your dishwasher may not be receiving any power. It is somewhat difficult to check for power at the plug outlet because the plug for a dishwasher is usually behind the unit. You should make sure all the circuit breakers of your circuit breaker panel are in the correct positions, or check to make sure no fuses of your house fuse panel are blown.

Door Switch

A properly functioning door switch will shut your dishwasher off when the door is opened. A defective door switch may not allow your dishwasher to operate at all. Examine the door switch and test it. If it is inoperable, it will have to be replaced.

Cycle Selector Switch

It isn't very common, but it is still possible that your dishwasher's cycle selector switch has become defective. Test the switch to determine if it is the cause of your problem. Replace it with a new one if it is.

Timer Motor

Your dishwasher timer will not function if its motor is defective. And if your timer is not functioning properly, then the dishwasher itself will not function properly. Test your dishwasher's timer motor, and if it is broken, you can replace either the entire timer assembly or just the timer motor.

My KitchenAid dishwasher quit workin no light no nothin, float switch is good, having problem troubleshooting water fill valve with solenoid???

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check for the following if your dishwasher is not working--

1. Fuse (blown or tripped).
2. 120 VAC supply wiring connection faulty. Repair or replace wire fasteners at dishwasher junction box.
3. Electronic control board faulty.
4. Motor (inoperative, check resistances).
5. Door switch (open contacts).
6. Door latch not making contact with door switch.
7. Touch pad circuit defective.
8. No indicator lamps illuminate when START or OPTIONS is depressed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Kitchenaid dishwasher appears dead

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Timer or selector switch
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

Doulbe Draw model receiving an F1 error message.

F1 indicates flood switch has been activated. I wouldn't advise you attempt repair on these drawers- they really require an expert to disassemble (I worked for F+P for 10 years!!). Depending on which model you have (DD603 or DD601v2), repair varies. 603 has a small circuit board that acts as flood switch- located in base beneath drawer- requires drawer to be removed for access. 601v2 model has polystyrene float that acts as flood switch-leaks usually caused by split lid seal(tricky to access- drawer has to be removed) In either case, a leak has occurred and activated flood switch. These drawers are very sensitive to detergents (don't use tablets!!), and the way they are loaded.
Would suggest you get service technician to remedy F1 fault

Water is not coming out of the top water jets for dishwasher

What is the model of this KitchenAid diswasher and approximatly how old is it? On some newer, energy saving models water is alternated from lower to upper spray arms. But ...
Remove filter that is in the sump area beneath the lower dish rack. Screws will need to be removed to open the area up. Look for blockages and clean filter.
Reassemble and test. If problems remain, it is probably a failing pump motor and will require a service call.
