Re: pioneer DEH-1900MP error AO

Turn off your car, turn key to ignition and as soon as your radio boots up, press the eject button. it should eject the CD. Loan a different CD to see if it works.

My pioneer car stereo DEH-P77MP won't play cd's anymore. the radio still works, but on the screen it says cd error AO or A0. i was wondering what problem this code relates to? hope you can help,...

This is a common error with these units when they get dusty from putting dirty disks inside the drive. Just go to your local staples and or walmart and get a 5 dollar disk player cleaning kit. It looks like a plain cd but has small fibers that come out of the bottom of the disc that clean the laser as it spins and tries to read it.

Do you have a code that you had to enter to unlock the stereo? Have you tried to reset the stereo? Look in your owner's manual and look for a "RESET" button. If you don't have the manual, you can download one from Hope this helps...

Error ao pioneer head unit

If the discs PHYSICALLY get stuck, then the mech is damaged. A local shop MAY be able to fix it, but it might be a better investment to just replace the radio.

Cd error-ao pioneer deh-77mp

I read a solution on here where you disconnect the wiring harness for 30-60 mins. to release the power stored in the capacitors. It seemed to work for everyone. I don't know if you tried this for this amount of time or not. Also, have you used a cd cleaner disc? You laser eye may be dirty. Also, since you said it was an old, battered car, maybe the vibration is causing the unit to malfunction. Also, if the unit is installed at the incorrect angle in the dash, it can cause a problem. Hope this helps...

Ok so I just fixed my problem. Although I was getting the error because of using an iPhone instead of a CD I believe it is the same solution.

As jjgomex suggested it was pulling to much power, to what I did was turn on the headunit switch the source to something other than what causes the problem.

Then go to the Audio settings in the menu and turn bass all the way down and Sub Control to -1.

Then turn off headunit and turn it on again and switch to the source of problem, it should be fixed, or at least it did for me.

:) Good Luck!

DEH-1900MP - lost functionallity after disconect/connect batery

Yes for some radio's if you take away power it has a theft lock and will not let you back in except if you have the code. To reset you must take power away from it. I would suggest if you don't want to take cd player out of car then disconnect battery. then when reconnect eject. May have to set for a moment.
