Creative zen Vplus 2gb mp3 - how 2 save recordings to harddrive

I have a creative zen Vplus mp3 player which is easy to do hand held recording on - but I can't work out how to save these recording to my hard drive so that I can burn off CD for my clients.

I am not too techniqual so if you could ask me in lay language would be great.  It is easy enough to find the recordings when the Mp3 is pluged in the media files (which are only accessible when it is pluged in) but if I change the name of the file - it will automatically changes its format too.

I have been to the website but couldn't work out how to post a message ? having never done that before.  All help so gratefully recieved.

I am using a Toshiba laptop and running windows XP if that helps

thanks kathy

Can't upload voice recording from creative zen

So I had that same issue but then i found the solution while playing with it. if you connect your zen to the computer, open up my computer and find the zen icon. click on it and go until you find the "my recordings" folder. click the folder and you should see all your recordings. right click the one you want to copy and click "copy". then open a folder in your computer and click "paste" and it works!

Intructions for recording Mic or Line In and SAVING to PC

Recording is quite easy:

1. To record from the Mic, simply press the button on the side of the player with the red dot and speak into the mic - its the small hole at the top left of the player.

2. To record line-in: connect the small mini stereo jack to the player and the other end to the line or headphone output of a recording device. Use the menu to find 'line in recording' (its towards the bottom of the menu). Monitor the input signal and adjust its level using the VU meters on the V Plus. Using the volume control on your player device, ensure that the signal is not too loud so that it clips, nor too soft (it will be noisy). When ready, press the red dot button. Press it again to stop recording.

3. To find the recordings and transfer files to PC: using the Zen Explorer, find the folder 'Recordings' on the Zen. Your recordings will be stored there with file names such as "Line In {date, time}.wma". Simply copy and paste these files onto your PC and play them with Winamp or Windows Media Player. Note that they are in WMA format, not MP3 format, but that this is a better standard than MP3 and can be played on most MP3 players.

Hope this has helped, and now can someone help me - my Zen V Plus screen is dead, and I didnt' even drop it.

Line in recording procedure

i cant really offer a definitive solution. I just starting playing with my zen and finally figured out how to use the line in recording feature. I also realized that i needed an adapter to plug in the zen to my stereo; luckily my husband has two. I have read how to delete the recordings. I havent tried to use it as of yet; but if i have any trouble i will contact you back. thanks again, new to zen

Purchased a used Zen "M"

Dear Larr

If you want store music or songs then u can use the usb cable, but if u want to store a voice or sound through mic then you should buy a mic that has sound cancellation, but it will not entirely cancell the background music, since the recording capacity is not up to the mark in zen.
