The black plug which is your ac adaptor goes into the big empty space in the back of the N64, it can only go in one way.

The other cord will be your A/V cord which goes into the back of the N64 either on the far left or far right, that cord also can only go in one way.

After that then you need to plug A/V cords into your TV. Just match the colors of the cords to the inputs on the back of your TV.

Just remember which video input your using on your tv so if your using video 1, video 2, video 3 etc, you know which input you have to change your TV to so you get video on the screen as well as sound.

I have a sanyo flat screen tv and i cant figure out how to set up my nintendo 64 with it. i have the red white and yellow wires plugged in the tv and the console is on..and the input select is on video but...

Do you have than one video setting-sometimes there is video one--video 2, video 3

check the back of your game and see if it says input then it goes to output on the tv or vice versa

My nintendo 64 has power ( Meaning the red light comes on) But nothing happens on the screen... I have tried blowing it and tapping it but nothing seems to help... Any ideas??

Maybe your av cable is damaged or not plugged in firmly. Try unplugging the av cable and reinserting it on both ends. If that doesn't work I suggest rubbing a damp paper towel over the contacts of the game cartridge.

Cant get nintendo 64 hooked up to flat screen

Wow, the classic Nintendo 64. That was my first gaming system. I do know that the 64 has default RCA cords (Red, Yellow, White). They are required to be inputed into your TV. Make sure the 64 is plugged into a power source and that it turns on. Make sure that your game actually works. Clean out your 64 by using a can of compressed air, do the same to your game.

Finally try to start it up.

If I helped in any way please rate me and help me out.

Thanks,

Hello and thanks for using FixYa,
Doing a google search brings up many places that sell the cables you need. I typed in "Nintendo 64 cables"
Here is a link to buy the cable from buy.com for $2.94 http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=205880487&listingid=11226836

Nintendo 64 to jvc hdtv

Check all of your plugs, make sure they are clean. Make sure the game that you have inside the system is clean and free of dust as well as the game connector port on the system. Make sure you are on your A/V channel. If all else fails, you ma have to gt a new A/V plug. When I got my Nintendo 64, I tried to plug it in to my TV using the plug that came with it, but it did not work. I soon found that the Playstation 2 A/V cable that I have also has two additional cables to it, and one of them works in the N64 system. So, I tried to play the system with that cable plugged in, and it worked, so I would suggest buying a new A/V cable that works in the N64 system.

Hope this helps!!!!!

Set up of the nintendo 64 console.

There is a big empty space on the back with a small plug on the inside. There should be a "power brick" that slides in there and then plugs into the wall.
