Sir how to update my bios. i have ibm netvista bios 4.0 bios and p4 board

I'd suggest going to the IBM website, follow links for support and downloads, entering when required details of your PC.

This should take you to the latest bios software available. It will also give you advice on how to install it. It may also be self installing.

Ibm t60 will not boot after ibm updates

The problem is sort of solved. I phoned the IBM Support centre; they said that the mother board was either broken or faulty. Fortunately the laptop is still under waranty and so an engineer will come and fix it. I must say the IBM suport centre was very efficient and quick.

There was no mention from them though that it was the bios update that may have caused the problem.

I'll update when the laptop is working.

Thanks.

Msi 654e max atx mother board

If your manual states a max of 2.2GHZ then, take it as that, when your board was made the bios and bus speeds would be set at the maximum to run a 2.2GHZ, not a 3GHZ, also the heat sink and fan may not be enough to cool the processor. The only way that a 3GHZ would run was if you updated the bios and personally i would not recommend it. You would be better advised updating the board and processor as a package ot fitting more memory if the pc is not used for gaming or high end video editing.
