Question about Samsung HCN473W 47" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Samsung hl-r5667l I have a purple haze over the top half(started at 1/3) of my screen. It will disappear occasionally if I unplug the TV. It will disappear on occasion if I give the top of the set a "tap". Sometimes it stays away for hours but most of the time just a few minutes. Some days it's thick(annoying viewing the picture beneath) some days so "thin" you can only see it when the picture being displayed is a certain color. Doesn't seem to be as "visable" on Hi-Def channels. Thanks

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
Most likely your colorwheel is bad,
second possibility is the digital board.
Both are for a technician to install, you could do more damage poking around inside the TV.
