Hi, this 576 modem as you know is configured to AOL. I'm with Pipex on regular broadband. Does resetting the modem really restore factory settings thus enabling install? Will I need a driver for it as the ISP CD is for the 330 USB modem. Basically I've not got a clue. Any help appreciated. Thanks

If you can access the configuration page of the router then check the IP configuration. Check WAN and LAN configurations. IP 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 will able u to access configuration page. Username and password hopefully be admin admin.
hi der... usually this kinda issue most of the time lies with the service provider.. but also to play safe...if can u may try to get another modem to test the connection. well internet light turns red . possible reason : DSL keeps disconnecting - Frequent intermittent causes ur user id and password to be erased and therefore u need to reboot or may need to configure back 2nd : u may sometimes face night dc , if tats the case its the ISP circuit problem.. ask them to come and change the circuit which gives u intrnet access. 3rd : ur modem unable to save ur configuration ... therefore ur modem mite be at fault or u can contact the respective modem vendor to check if ur modem is at fault before calling ur isp .. this mite help u pal...
Hi Susie With related to your particular issue it seems like that your broadband modem is not configured for the router. There are basically 2 types of connection. DSL and Cable modem. Verizon, ATT are DSL and comcast other providers give you a normal cable broadband connection. If its comcast make sure the cable from the comcast modem is going to the internet port in the linksys router and also make sure that there is a system connection the linksys router and the cable from the system goes to any of LAN 1, 2, 3 and 4 ports. Then reset your cable modem by using a pin and inserting to the reset hole in the modem. You could use the same step to reset your linksys router as well .If its a verizon or dsl connection you need to put normally your username and password in the router page. here is the link to how to configure linksys for your internet modem. Here is a video as well on it? http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAXMO7aNzg http://tinyurl.com/5tqqhl
Also post the linksys router model. your ISP modem model number and also information on how many systems are wired to the router and wireless and let me know if you need more help.
The Linksys router can be communicated with by going to Start>Run>type 'http://192.168.1.1' and when the logon screen appears use 'linksys' for username and 'admin' for the password. There you can reset defaults, view status, configure all router functions, et al, including restore defaults. Pressing the little reset button has reset levels that vary with the amount of time it is pressed -basically discharging a capacitive charge. Remember that cable modems use DHCP whereas DSL uses PPPoE. ~Steve
Connect modem to the internet port of the wrt54g Connect pc to port 2 of the wrt54g Reset the wrt54g, push reset button for 30seconds with the power on, uplug the power for 10 seconds Open internet explorer, type 192.168.1.1, you will be asked to login, no username, password is admin. This will take you to the router page. On the page you will se AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION DHCP, change that to PPPOe, enter your broadband username and password. Click save settings at the buttom of the page. YOU WILL ONLY GET CONNECTION IF YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD IS CORRECT.
Have you tried to reset the device using a pin or paperclip, this should restore the device to factory settings and allow your new internet service provider help you with the setup to connect to thier service.
