I'm trying to change my factory stereo from my 2002 trailblazer to sony CDX GT575UP

you would be better off going to local car sound dealer and getting a wire conversion kit for that car to suit the stereo then no wires need to be cut and can easily be changed back

Display will not dim when headlights are on.

There is an extra wire on the back that should be hooked up to the car for that function. If your car does not have this feature for the original factory stereo then you'll have to find some wire in the dashboard that comes on when you turn on the headlights. If you bought a car stereo adapter when you installed the new stereo to plug it directly into the factory plug then there should be a wire for this purpose. If you connected all the wires correctly then again, maybe the feature wasn't available on your car.

I just put a new stereo in my truck but wont keep memory?

you didn hook up the hot at all times wire, or memory wire, its usually yellow on aftermarket stereos and goes to the batt. a way to find that wire is to pull the stereo, leave everything off, and check wires for voltage. once you find one with volts when key is off, just hook the wire up

Why do my settings reset in aftermarket stereo of my 92 mercury cougar

As well as the normal 12 volt line form the ignition switch, there is a 'permanently on' 12 volt lead, which keeps the clock and memories going even when the ignition is turned off. It sounds like the installer has missed connecting this one.

We have change our car battery, and now the car stereo isn`t working. asking for a code? please help.

Usually when the battery is reset the radio resets the memory and the factory code set by the maker needs to be inputted. So You must check the owners manual/service book to see if there is any codes that was written down. If not the dealership or service log book will have the codes which can be retrieved to be punched into the set so as to get it to work-- this is done for security specially for theft of car stereos.

Changed my factory stereo with an after market stereo and now truck wont start what do i need to do or what didnt i di its a 1998 ford ranger xlt

put back the factory stereo if the car works then you have a model that depends on that head unite you will need to use a factory stereo by pass harness to solve this problem when you install you after market unite.this is a common issue with newer factory stereo's if putting back your factory stereo does not fix this then check all your fuse's generly there are more then one fuse box in newer cars

Stereo wiring

You might save yourself a lot of headaches by stopping by a car stereo sales/installation place, and ask for wiring adapter harness. They should have an adapter plug that goes from your factory plugs to the new stereo. $10-$20 well spent. You may even find what you need at an auto parts store that sells stereos too, or radio shack.
