Question about GE Dryers

Gas dryer will only light one time glow plug comes on but no gas

I can turn the dryer on after it has not been used for a while and the glow plug will come on and the gas will ignite. This cycle will continue for 2 burns then that is it. If you wait about 30 minutes and restart the dryer it will repeat the same.

The glow plug works everytime. The gas valave will only open on the first initiation of the glow plug. After the first or sometimes the second time the gas valve will not open. The clothes will not dry. Hope this makes sense.

The glow is working all the time but the gas valve only opens the first time you turn the dryer on.

Ok, is the glow ignition working all the time or, is the glow only working after you shutdown the dryer for a short time?

Replace the gas valve coils. When they get hot, they are going out on overload.

Since this solution solved your problem, would it be worth a FIXYA' rating?

Kenmore gas dryer 80series model 110.c72852101

if you hear the valve clicking but no gas the valve is bad.when the burner lights theres a probe that senses that it is lit and sends a microvoltage back to the controller to tell its lit.check to make sure all ground wires are grounded to a clean metal surface.

The igniter glows but nothing else happends

for one thing, the glow plug may not be glowing hot enough, to light burner. if glow plug does not heat up like it should, then gas will not come out. have glow plug checked.

My gas dryer is not heating up I checked to see if any flames is on when its running but its not coming on the timer is turning.what needs to change

All gas dryers have a gas module. The older models (very old) have a pilot light and the new ones have what is called a GLOW PLUG and it is made out of ceramic. If this glow plug is in any way broken, you will not have any heat. The GLOW PLUG is what comes on when you first turn the dryer on and it GLOWS until the gas module actually spits out a small amount of gas and an internal combustion occurs and the flames come on full power and this is what dries your clothes. If the GLOW PLUG is fine, then the gas module could be bad. ALSO, Always check for burnt wires and check any thermostats or fuses internally in the unit.

Hot water heater went out when they replaced our dryer doesn't

Make sure the gas valve at the dryer is turned on. Dryers use a glow plug or electronic ignitor to light the gas. There is no pilot light. Plug the dryer in and start it. Look inside the front lower panel to see if the ignitor glows. If it does and the gas does not light then the gas to the dryer is probably turned off. Look for a valve in the supply line to the dryer. Also inside near the front underneath.

Roper gas dryer not heating

the glow plug (ignitor)must draw 3 amps or more to function properly if its ok check the flame sensor for continuity located on the side of the burner housing and if its ok then the gas coils on the top of the gas valve are faulty let me know if this helps
