brand new phone that is fully charged and pliugged in has no dial tone and seems to be roaming looking for service buttons do not work either phone is northwestern bell model 392301

This is not a problem..You will need keep your phone plugged into the power jack and the powe switch must be on.Then connect the phone line..thats all the phone will register itself and start working..

my phone rings when someone calls, when i pick up the receiver to answer the phone is dead. i have an old phone i plug in and it works fine. we had a prolong power outage, and was wondering if it might have an effect on the phone.
