No Audio on Toshiba 105 using vista

We have had problems with losing audio for unkown reasons. Sometmes it returns without our action. We had audio when we left the US for vacation, but when we arrived in St. Martin, no audio. Is it us, or Vista? We did the Uniblue drivers test without success.

There are so many things that could be going wrong with this system right now...

Can you tell me what applications you have tried to get sound? (ex: media player, dvd player, etc)

Was Vista installed when you purchased your Toshiba?

Which (specific) model of 105 is this one?

good luck
tony

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Toshiba a25-s2792 No sound in windows 7

Yes,....good Ol' Windows updates. Known to knock a system partially out of commission.

Windows has lost the address to the Audio drivers. The reason it states Audio is working properly, is because Windows is full of it.

The Toshiba Satellite A25 series of Notebook PC's, did not come with Windows 7. It came with Windows XP. You, or someone else installed Windows 7.

The updates knocked the audio driver address file to the curb.
All you have to do, is install the Win7 installation disk again, and perform a Repair.
(Non-Destructive Installation)

OR, use the Restoration Disk, (Backup disk)

Toshiba eSupport does not provide audio drivers for Win Vista, or Win 7, for this model. Only Win XP,

Go to this website and select windows 7(32) or (64) depends on what version you are using then on the categories select sound and click Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)(v6.0.1.5904; 09-03-2009; 60.61M) then click the red download now button to start downloading the driver. After downloading, install the driver that you have downloaded to update the sound driver of your laptop. If prompted for a restart, restart your computer then check your computer for a sound.

If the driver you downloaded will not fix the audio problem, you have to return to it's original operating system (windows vista) of your laptop by reformatting from a clean installation using windows vista installer.

Installation of Windows 7 is not supported by Toshiba for laptops made prior to 2007. Have a nice day.

Oh! Sorry.
Try to search for the XP Drivers for your Laptop or Return the OS to Windows Vista, some Toshiba Laptops does not have XP Drivers if downgraded from Vista to XP.

Thanks

My speakers don't make any sound ... since a new software update occurred, no matter how much I turn up the volume and make sure they are not muted. Help

Right click my computer, properties, click hardware tab, click device manager. Go to sound, uninstall your audio driver. If you're using Vista, don't delete the drivers. When it's gone, still on device manager, click action then scan for hardware changes. it should bring back the audio driver. Then test it again.
Hope this helps.
