Question about Asko Washing Machines

1 Answer

Cannot stop cycle once it has been started and temp is too high

We are using an ASKO W6362 washing machine. It has been put on the wrong cycle (temperature is too high at 95c) and has started to fill with water. However, we cannot change any of the temperature settings and also cannot stop the cycle to empty the machine. We have tried switching on and off but the cycle is still set to continue. Can you please help. Thanks,Mike

Contact one of the Asko authorised repairers in your area and they will be able to tell you the likely cause provided the water in your machine is heating up to the correct temperature and not trying to wash luke warm and without the powder dissolving properly.

Set the machine for a hot wash and stop it and open the door mid wash cycle and check how hot the water is. It should be extremely hot and you should get a mass of steam rushing out when you open the door.

What would cause a nasty metal nashing sound when machine goes from medium spin to high speed spin during spin cycle?

Hi dear,
As I know it happens to other Asko washer models as well. From 800 rpm going up to 12-14 or 1600 rpm. That sounds happens due to vibration generated from motor. I do not thing you can do much about it unless changing motor, which is costly remedy. Thanks.

Try to press the start/stop button for at least 3 seconds. This should reset the started cycle, and you can make a new choice. If this dont help, it could be a faulty control board

Hello, I have the Asko W6761 and all of a sudden it doesn't run the cycle anymore. It starts normally, i.e. pumps water into it, but then it doesn't start to wash..any idea what this could be? After a few...

Hello, my W6761 becomes the same. When it happens, you can clear the problem by "soft ware reset". Following is the procedure:
1. Power it on
2. Push Start/Stop buttom 5 times
3. Push "Enter", ">", "<", "Menu" buttons (from right to left)
4. Again, push "Enter", ">", "<", "Menu" buttons
5. Wait for 30 seconds that the above soft ware cycle resets the internal status
6. Toggle the power switch
7. You need to execute above "soft ware reset" within 15 seconds

Start washing and check to see if above reset the problem.
If it does not begin to work, repeat above "soft ware reset" cycle until it begins to work.
My W6761 once needed to repeat above cycle 7 times to solve the problem.
W6761 seems to be weak at high ambient temperature.

I have an Asko W6221. I've just hooked it up and everything seems work work fine except for the temperature dial. It won't turn. It's stuck on the lowest setting. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, welcome to FixYa. If you look directly under the dial, below the rim of the front panel, there should be a lock button. Asko has this safety built in to prevent temp. Change after starting a wash. It is likely in the lock position. This is so once you set the temp. It won't accidently get changed during the cycle. Push it in and turn to lock it, turn and release should "unlock" it. You can also leave it locked by simply pushing it in long enough to turn the temp dial. Hope that helps, let me know how you do or if my explaination isn't clear. Thanks for choosing FixYa, please take a second to rate this solution. Good luck. macmarkus :)

Asko W6761 - seems fine, starts to fill 40 seconds then stops!

This problem happens in mostly in warmer season, so this will be related with high ambient or water temperature.

ASKO technician may replace the controller but even with the replaced controller, this problem often happens.

Asko W600 spin cycle not working

Check the brushes oin the motor. It's the most normal fault when this problem appears. Not a big thing to fix for a technician!
