Question about Canon PIXMA iP4200 InkJet Photo Printer
Even tho 4 of 5 cartridges need replacing, the black (8BK) one is full. I just want to do black & white (greyscale?) printing without replacing 4 carts. any way this printer will function this way...driver?...profile? I was told this printer was excellent $ for B & W printing (also has black 5PGBK tank). Help me w/ this $ nightmare please!
I read somewhere that if the printer receives instruction from the PC that it requires black only printing (e.g. a letter in Word) then it will use the 5PGBK tank. The 8BK tank is used with the other colours in photo printing only. If you check the greyscale option, it will use ink from the 8BK tank and mix with the CMY colours to print, but I have not tried this out.
