Could it possibly be a gable fan running and not the A/C? If you have a gable fan it is a high possibility.

2002 4 ton Bryant air conditioner shuts off, fan still runs but not cooling is problem in the controls in the attic or in the AC unit or both?

With a non heat pump it is a simple 24 volt AC control circuit. In the attic there is a relay that is actuated via the fan control wire directly from the thermostat. On the thermostat there is an auto/man switch that controls the fan. Manual the fan runs all the time. Auto fan turns on and off with the outside compressor.

If the system is not calling for cool and the fan continues to run the fan relay is sticking. common problem. Sometimes after running for several days the relay will stop sticking if not, replace relay.

If the system is calling for cool and the compressor stops I would still expect the fan to run until thermostat tells the A/C to off. Some compressor units include a safety switch or high-pressure cut-out switch A blocked internal valve bad control board or external fan in outside unit defective no air flow in outside unit.
High pressure cut out not good,

Suggest turning temp max cool and observe. If acceptable cool and the compressor runs without interruption all is good, except for the blower in the attic. Safely check relay in attic blower circuit.

Hope this helps.

Condenser fan replaced one year ago, fan not turning but can hear motor

the answer to your problem is most likely the motor start capacitor. A AC motor can run in both directions. The start capacitor is used to cause the current to lag behined the voltage which determines the direction the motor will turn. Its posible the start and run capacitors are in one can. so changing one will change the other. However look for a wiring diagram. Do not asume that both capacitors are wired in properly. They may be fighting one another causeing premature failure.

I have an Amana new AC for 2 years. The problem I have is that the outside fan unit is running but the inside unit in the attic does not run. what could be the problem?

All Amana and most other brands have a five year parts warranty, without the model number I would have to say either the thermostat, control wiring which sends a signal to the G terminal may not be working or the blower motor is bad or jammed up.

Outside unit is running but blower in attic is not working line in attic from outside unit is dripping water

You need to get the blower motor going, the unit is froze up. Try switching the fan spped wires on the control board on the unit in the attic.

If that does not work, replace the motor

Rudd 2.5 combo ac/heat unit

This could be due to a freon leak or the condenser unit needs cleaning also the evaporator in the attic should also be cleaned and inspected. If cold sweat is not seen outside on the large line going into the outside unit I believe you may have a freon leak. Sea Breeze

Blower never stops. AC outside jammed to stay on???

You need to call someone who truely knows what they're doing. From your decription, the person you had out should not be working on units. You have a problem most likely caused be the person that installed the new motor and these units are not designed to be worked on by the homeowner. There are hazards that could cause damage or injury.

Blower in attic & AC unit outside continuously run

Sorry to hear about your miss-fortune, you are right it is an wiring problem. Can you turn off the blower with the thermostat (cool-off-heat) or what happens when you switch the fan to (auto or on) When you say the outside unit is "rigged" is it mechanically being jammed or electrically? If its mechanically that should be removed (what a crappy thing to do) other wise it will run continuously as you may already know. That is what it sounds like, you should just be able to shut the entire system down by turning off the switch to the furnace. If it is electrically being held closed, he changed some of the wiring around in the attic unit, you better hope he was lazy and jammed a stick in the contactor in the outside unit or else you may need to learn more about HVAC wiring, none the less I would double check the thermostat wires going to the attic furnace there should be nomenclature on the unit or at least somewhat marked. This was probably disturbed when the new blower was installed, by the way that was your initial problem. Good luck and becarful

Weather King AC

The motor of your air mover in the inside unit has failed.
It is responsible for circulating the air through the exchanger and your home.
This may be located in an attic space depending on the construction of your house.

Running the cooling with this not working could cause your outside unit to operate continuously or fail.

A more remote possibility is that the thermostat has failed and is only causing the outside unit to run.

Blank screen sounds like a fried thermosat. Abrupt outages can affect certain types of thermostats. Make a jumper wire and jump across R and G. See if you get any action from anywhere. If a fan or compressor kicks in you know you have a burned out thermosat...

Blower in Attic not running

inside unit has fan control relay , either on control board or can be separate ,except for the 24 volt transformer and the t-stat the units operate separately concentrate totally on the inside unit this is where the problem lies
