SOURCE: Radio Wiring Diagram

Go to www.crutchfield.com.

On the bottom of the page there is a link for product support. On the next page, type "2005 Grand Prix" in the search box and hit enter. The top link shows an image and pinout on models with Monsoon sound systems, the second link for ones without.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Can a turner ssb+2 micraphone be wired to a ranger 2995dx cb radio?

If I remember right those mics were for relay switching radios and not transistor switching radios like todays models. Also I would bet you would be very disappointed with the results as the ranger radios have an excellent modulation circuit that does not need any help from a power mic. A trustworthy radio shop tech can tune up a Ranger and make it sound excellent without a power mic. I haven't installed one in years. They are a waste of money and time in most cases except for the D104 which can be used with some base stations.

Will a cobra power mic cure the low mod on my cobra 19 dx iv eu or will it blow the front of the rig

that is simply bs, Ham radio shops rarely like CB people (I am a long time cber and also a ham.

On that radio there are two things you can do, look for the mod limiter and remove it or another more simple thing:
This radio comes with a 1000 ohm element in the mic--like speakers---Get a older or new 500 ohm microphone and wire it or have it wired for the 19 dx, it will make a big difference in how it sounds.

I not only worked on those radios but sold them in a shop I owned.

You might find a used mic that's 500 ohm, it is usually stamped into the back case of a mic.

I'm trying to wire a galaxy desk mic to a cobra 200 10 meter mobile

  • The Galaxy desk mic (power mic) is already wired four pin and the Cobra 200 is a 4 pin already as well. So unless someone has messed with them the mic will plug right up to the radio as is.

  • But if someone has repined the mic then follow the pinout I listed below to get it rewired for the Cobra 200
  1. Pin #1 on mic connector - Black wire.
  2. Pin #2 on mic connector - White wire.
  3. Pin #3 on the mic connector - Blue wire.
  4. Pin #4 on the mic connector - Red wire.

  • If you look on the end of the mic connector it will have the imprint of the number for each pin on the mic.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

I need to know what colers go where on the mic pin for a trc 447 thank you

I don't know which mic you're trying to wire to this radio. The colors of the wires in the mic cable may change from one mic to another, so relying on the color is not reliable. Usually you refer to these connections as Pin1 to a Signal or Function; or Jack Pin1 to Plug Pin3. No one assumes a color will always be used to connect Pin1 to TX (transmit).

With that said, I found an answer on FixYa from someone that answered the question some time ago like this:

HERE IT IS THE CORRECT MIC WIRING FOR THE REALISTIC TRC 447.

1.)Audio
2.)RX
3.)TX
4.)CH.Down / Shorted to Ground
5.)Ground
6.)Ch.Up / Shorted to Pin 4

Be extremely careful when wiring this radio! pin 4 and pin 6 carry voltage shorting these to the wrong place can result in serious damage to your radio.

Lastly, since I doubt what was provided above is going to help you very much - you can review all the info ever printed by Realistic on your radio, here. There's a wealth of info on this page and you should be able to find what you're looking for in it. You're looking to find the pinouts of the radio to the pinouts of the mic.

If you ever have to disconnect a multiconductor cable from a connector, and you don't have the time or means to write the colors down, it is better to simply cut the cable - leaving all the colored insulation of wire ends soldered / still secured to the connector. When you are ready to do the replacement of the connector or cable, you've got the wiring order in place still, and can make the new connections one at a time at your leisure.

Good luck!

Have new dx959 doesnt get out very far talking 100yrds or so use rdking 56 mic mic works fine on old radio pc 78 and gets out fine also are 959 radios ok or junk has good reception

The DX959 has an output power setting knob. It's located next to the channel selector and is labeled RF Power. Turned counterclockwise will reduce output power. Turned clockwise will increase output power. Your switch is probably turned all the way counterclockwise resulting in low transmit volume.
Also, make sure the wiring for the RK59 is correct for the Galaxy. Even though it's a 4 pin plug, the pinouts may be different for the Uniden and Galaxy radios. Do a Google search for mic pinouts for your two radios to check.
