Question about Heating & Cooling
My AC is blowing hot air. I think I need to add freon. Can you tell me how to do this on a 2000 Olds Alero?
Yes, so as not to be repetitive (as others have had the same problem), here's a simple article that percisely explains the possible causes of your AC not cooling:
Also, if it turns out to be a need for a Freon recharge, how will you get the Freon? Freon is not sold to the general public. Like it or not, Freon (the refrigerant used for AC's) is highly controlled, as it is supposed to be sold only to licensed AC technicians.
If you feel you need a technician, don't get ripped off with a quote fee, by the way; take advantage of the above link towards the end for four free quotes from technicians if you find yourself needing to get one. (You don't want to needlessly be charged for just someone's coming over only--it could cost a lot for no substantive action.)
