I just bought A Kodak esp 3250 series AIO printer. I can print from computer, copy and all that but whenever I try to scan to computer or even preview scan I get a error saying :An error occurred while...

Try a new USB cable. Scanners require bidirectional communication with the computer and thus can fail when printer itself works. (If you use a print server or USB hub, try a direct connection.) Also try changing USB ports.

Another thing to try is to remove the TWAIN driver and reinstall it. This requires the original software CD from Kodak.
1. From your computer desktop, click Start > Run. (In Windows 7, type run in the search box then click on Run.)
2. Type %windir%, then click OK.
3. Double-click twain_32.
4. Right-click Kodak, then select Delete.
5. Insert the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software CD into the appropriate drive, then go to D: > printer > scanner.
NOTE: The CD is indicated by D: above. The CD drive may be a different letter on your computer.
6. Double-click aioscannr.msi, then follow the instructions to remove it.
7. Go to D: > printer > scanner, then double-click aioscannr.msi, and follow the instructions to install the file.
8. Open Home Center Software:
a. Select Scan Documents and Pictures.
b. Scan a document.

Unfortunately, if the error persists, the scanner may need service. Contact Kodak: http://www.kodak.com/go/contact .

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Follow the below steps exactly (Step by Step) to install it and you shouldn't have a problem.

For Windows XP and Windows 7

1.) Install Driver delivered with the Reader. Do NOT install Integold Driver/SDK that might come with the Reader!
Do not allow Windows to search for Driver Updates on Microsoft, and refuse to use automatically downloaded Microsoft Driver!
2.) Update driver and Firmware with the latest downloads from Digital Persona Site:
http://www.digitalpersona.com/support/downloads/software-updates/reader-engine/
As of today, you should download and install the following packages:
dp00_02_004.zip
and
dp00_02_003.zip
3.) Download and install Free Digital Persona OneTouch for Windows SDK:
http://www.digitalpersona.com/embedded/sdk/one-touch-for-windows/

Important! Reboot Computer after each installation!

I hope this helps! Have a great day!

Best Regards,

James

Scanner is no longer working. It says "connecting to PC" and never does anything else

Hi, Well i think the driver is damaged. Just do one thing. First un-install the driver of your scanner completely and now restart the system and again install the driver. After installing it, restart the computer and now your scanner should work.

Hi mil0153, go to this web site: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/welcome.html#Support
Make sure your printer is connected to the computer & the printer is turned on.
In Step 1. Click the emty circle next to, "Download drivers and software (and firmware)".
In Step 2, click "Start Detection >>" button. Allow HP to install some software. HP will scan your system & find your printer. HP will install the correct updated software & or tell you what is needed for the LaserJet 2840 to function correctly. Follow all on screen instructions.

Hp scanjet 3970 won't scan, but passes hardware tests

Sometimes the best thing to do is to start from the beginning. If you find that your OS is not listed, we should look at another avenue to resolve this issue.

Completely un-install your scanner. Then restart your computer. Re-install the software for this scanner. Try the following link to get your specific OS drivers that are needed.

Scanner problem

I'm assuming you are running Windows XP! Is the driver for the scanner installed? Remember that the scanner driver is different from the printer driver! When you open My Computer does it show up? Also you can check in device manager as well! Go to Start->Run type devmgmt.msc and press enter! If you see any devices with a yellow icon then the drivers are not installed for it ! If there is an icon but a yellow exclamation beside then that means there is a problem with it! Try re-instlling he drivers if this is the case or un-install the device then re-install! If the drivers are already installed post back with the exact error you are getting(word for word)! Regards, babb
