Mine did the same thing. Took the battery out and gently scraped metal prongs on battery with my fingernail. Seem to clean them off(maybe some kind of buildup) now it is charging. Hope this helps.

I went into the samsung website and downloaded the manual for just this same problem. The answer is according to the website you are using a non samsung something or other like charger . In my case patently not true. So I took the bloody phone apart and put it back together and now its charging. If you do a search of the website looking for this model it doesn't show up . I think that tells us something.

I also took the battery out and reinstalled and it SEEMS to be charging, Yesterday my puppy grabbed it and dropped it on the floor when I yelled at her and I think that's what may have jiggled the battery out of whack and made it not charge and send the error message.

Non Supported Battery

Try a new battery. Many phones do this when the battery goes defective.

It is also possible that the battery control circuits in the phone are defective. This is less common.

Aftermarket battery

what you can do is try buying an original battery or taking the phone to a samsung mobile store have them try one of their batteries in it and see if the same problem occurs, if it does then you know to buy original batteries....
