    Hi again,

The problems that I have are not on my computer its on a friends laptop. As far as I am aware he was surfing the internet the other night and everything was fine till the next day when he tried to access the internet again. He is using pay as you go with O2. The connection seems ok, his network says that he is connected alright, but the problem is when you try to view pages all you get is a white screen saying explorer can't show the page in the browser, its all most as if the browser has disappeared, I say his because you can't views anything at all.

Hi there.
Make sure that the switch on the front of the laptop is turned on and the LED indicator light is on.
Use the keyboards wireless toggle which is Fn-F8 or Fn-F2.
If this does not work reset your router and the modem by removing the power cords from the back of them for 2 mins (don't unplug from the wall) then after 2 mins plug them both back in and wait again for them to reset and try to reconnect to the internet.
Please post back with the results and for any additional help if needed.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

    Hi there again.
No i don't mean the computer, i mean remove the power from the wireless router and the modem for 2 minutes and then try to connect to the internet.
If you think you may have a virus use your antivirus software to scan the computer and try to reconnect.
Please post back with the results.

    Regards

Why is Google page in tiny print through google chrome all of a sudden ?Also you tube is zoomed to the max.I can't view you tube.Everything else is ok on other sites. Please help

Conduit is malware. Get rid of it first, and reboot. Start by downloading the free version of Malwarebytes (Anti-Malware) from https://www.malwarebytes.com/ install it and run it - that takes an hour or more. It should locate and deal with malware like Conduit in your computer. Then reboot and try again.
There are more detailed methods if that did not remove it all.

Some time ago I downloaded Google to my computer and it took over and everytime I open Internet Explorer, I get the Google website. I want to go back to myTelus. Can you help?

It sounds like your default homepage has been changed.
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Address box, type the Web page address that you want for your home page.
NOTE: If you want the page that you are currently viewing in Internet Explorer to be your home page, click Use Current.
  5. Click OK

That should clear things up for you.

Hello Two days ago web images and logos on this PC/monitor started becoming fuzzy/pixelated. Also, web pages load slowly. Problem is seen with different browsers also. Desktop environment appearance is OK....

1)Go to Control Panel>Appearance and themes>display>settings>Make sure your screen resolution is set to more than 1024X768 and millions of colors.
You didn't download an accelerator for a modem, did you? If so, that is usually how the accelerator works, by deducting pixels from graphics. If that is the case, go to your accelerator and choose use original image settings. The other place we need to look is in browser settings and internet connections. See pics below. Make sure that compression settings are not too high.
2) clear your cache, cookies, and history.Instructions differ, but go to control panel>network settings>internet options. You can also check on your internet connection.
Lastly, if you have been making graphics for the web with Adobe, or another web program, make sure that you haven't changed your view settings in an effort to conserve memory in your editing programs. Sorry if I gave you redundant advice, I couldn't find your first post. Thanks, please continue to leave comments if your situation changes.

Text and graphics are totally different, so browse through you internet settings to make sure that you didn't accidentally changed something. You can choose reset original tools/option settings in browsers and Adobe if you are not sure where the problem comes from.

WIFi problems with my DELL XPS m1330

This has happened to me in a similar way; and mine was to where I had a connection, and yahoo messenger, itunes, other things would open; but when I would try to open internet explorer, it would hang, then look like it was opening, then go right to a cannot connect page. What I found out is that I had gotten some serious trojans/virus from a download. After everything that I could think of, ie system restore, redownloading IE 8, running antivirus and removing some of the trojans, and few other things, I failed, and so came to the conclusion that I had to just reformat the hard drive, wipe it clean, and then reinstall my operating system. After I did that, which was like 8 months ago, I haven't had one problem with connecting to any page. No problem at all. I hope this helps.

The presumption that your Wifi Compact Flash Card work with Windows Mobile 2003 is higher than working with Windows Mobile 2002. The new Windows is supporting much more hardware than the old one.
