If you have a soft brick then you can fix the unit. If the cause of the brick is from a failed mod attempt then you're obviously not under warranty so you can discount any responses that advise you to "Send it in to Nintendo."
Instead of doing that I would visit the link below and follow their methodology to determine if you can Un-brick your wii!

We just bought new wii remote and it will not power on. The batteries are new and in the correct position. The batteries work in the other remote we have tried synchronizing the remote and still nothing. Done the turn the console off thing but still nothing! Is there something we are missing?
