Try leaving the trimmer in direct sunlight for a while and then try starting it. placing the trimmer in direct sunlight will warm up the spark plug. if it does start then it might be that spark plug is getting to be weak and may need to be replaced.

Fs55 will not idle down

If you have the idle screw turned out all the way and it still runs fast, the saw is sucking air from some where. Check the carburetor gaskets. I work at a Stihl dealer as a mechanic and what we find most of the time is the air is sucked into the saw thru the main crank bearings. This is a costly repair to replace them and can only be diagnosis-ed by performing a vacuum and pressure check. Thanks. George

Starting up Ryobi Petrol Strimmer

full choke on , push petrol bubble 5 times then pull starter cord., with luck it will kick in to life after a 20/30 secs put on half choke , run again for 30 secs the no ckoke.

The main problem with Ryobi products is that they flood very very easly. So the more time you try and pump petrol into the carb the more it will flood . If that happenes then choke off and switch off and then just pull starter cord for about 30 secs then switch on and it could start if not prime it again as above good luck

Toyoat Hard to start

I recommend to remove carb and send to a specialist to have rebuilt or reconditioned. Cleaning it may not be enough. A carb that old may need to be serviced. This would be your starting point. The service shop can test it "outside" of vehicle.

You need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek Brush,
(http://www.dentek.com/shop.php?target=products&product_id=7), to clean the small portals in the carb. Make sure to clean the small screen in the carb. as well. Reassemble and start.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Lawn trimmer runs but won't rev

You need to clean the carburetor. Remove & disassemble. Use a Den Tek Brush,
(http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Lustrasilk-Lustrasilk-Cholesterol-Shea-Butter-Mango-20Oz-Bonus), to clean small portals in carb. Spray carb. with carb. cleaner. make sure the small screen in carb. is free of debris. Reassemble and start. If this doesn't work, buy a carb.kit and replace the needle valve, gasket(s), small screen, & diaphragm.

Trouble starting gas trimmer

Yes. It sounds like you need to clean the carburetor. Take the carb. off, disassemble and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure to clean the small screen in carb. Clean the small portals with a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning between teeth). They work great for this job. Reassemble carb. and try starting. If this doesn't cure the problem then you will need to buy a new carb. kit and replace the needle valve, gasket(s), diaphragm, & small screen.

It acts like it is flooded, starts with choke off and throttle depressed. runs until carb runs out of gas then dies

Yes, Your carburetor sounds like it needs cleaned. Or you may possibly need to purchase a carb. kit for your trimmer if the cleaning doesn't do any good. When cleaning the carb. use a Den Tek Brush, (teeth cleaning brush), to clean the small ports. Also, check the small screen in carb. Can get clogged easily.

Cant start trimmer

Carb float is not working correctly. Letting to much fuel in. Most likely there is a problem with needing to be cleaned I know you have taken it apart but the float still sounds like it is dirty or the needle on the float is not sealing allowing fuel to rush in

Trimmer is flooding.

It appears that the carb is not functioning properly. Sounds like the needle is not seating properly. It will need cleaning or repair.

My ryobi trimmer keep flooding. It has a Walbro carb #wt539 in it.

The most likely possibility is that the carb needs rebuilding. Just cleaning may not help. Gasgets go bad over time if fuel is left in the trimmer.
