When the nunber of copies to print is listed as "1", my printer is making a second copy. How do I stop this? Frances
Hi Frances,
You should check your Printing Preferences and see if the culprit is there.
Go to start -> Control Panel -> Printer and Faxes.
Right-click on the Photosmart Printer and choose Printing Preferences.
Go through the tabs and look at the options. I don't know which software version you are using, but in the newer one there is a tab called Basics, where you can set the general amount of copies made.Check if Copy Count is set to 1.
If you get to the Properties Window this way (or also by double-clicking the HP Digital Image Monitor in the task bar, -> Settings -> Print Settings -> Print Settings), you can set your general printing properties which are used as a standard: Print Quality, Color, Papersize, etc. These will be used as a standard for all applications, but can be changed individually.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
When you go to print a page, click page setup, and change setting for copy's from 2 to 1...shia
2 possibilities
1 It is trying to make more than 1 copy and the second one is jamming as it's picking up the paper ( clean tires)
2 it's set to legal instead of letter.
