I've got the same problem. I just cleaned the coil on the back rear of the appliance, any chance this will fix it?

I'm hesitant to go to the extreme you mentioned of clearing everything out and removing the back panel, but will if this doesn't fix it.

I cleaned the condenser and checked to see if the condenser fan was working and it is. I have also checked to see if the fridge and freezer fans are working by opening up the doors and manually working the switch and they are both working as well. I did this about 10 hours ago and I have the fridge set on 8, 10 being the maximum. The temperature after 10 hours is about 46 degrees. One thing more the fridge was off for about 28 hours due to a power loss because of downed power lines during a storm. The condenser was very dirty! I have the Sub Zero model 561 side by side which is about 15 years old, the large compressor on the left runs continually, however, I do not feel as much if any vibration coming from the smaller compressor on the right.

Jenn-Air JSD2789GES we've had this refrig or 4 years and in May of this year it started doing the same thing.  Sear came out 8 time and replaced every part replaceable and unthawed the elements many times....finally deem it un-repairable today.  I will NEVER buy another Jenn-Air.  Currently the temp on the freezer side is -15 and the frig side is 54.

The defrost drain is blocked..This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle.Seems like it is blocked with water or ice.
Unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment
pull off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Look for that defrost drain hole..
pour small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. Repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube..
Hope this works..
Regards,
Eagle.

Just had mine fixed for same problem.
U might note there is frost build up in the back of freezer wall.

The darned thing is not defrosting right.

Apparently timer is kaput. It was changed. The ref was defrosted. Everything dripping like crazy.
With labor and part it cost me ~$300. Don;t know whether that was true or not but next time it breaks I will go and buy a cheapo ref.

Freezer stayed cold but upper compartment wouldn't. Freeze started having problems with staying cold. I just paid $377 to get the two year old evaporate fan replaced. It is located inside the frig behind the panel in the freezer compartment. It took about 15 minutes. Seems this part is part of the evaporator system but not covered by anything other than the first one year warranty. Problem solved but what a ripoff from Kitchenaid.

My Sub Zero model no. 561 Fridge was off for 28 hours due to a power failure. The condenser was filthy so I cleaned it. The freezer and fridge fans are working fine. The fridge has been running now for about 10 hours on the setting of 8 Ten being the coldest, and the temperature is about 45 degrees. Should the fridge be at a cooler temperature at this point or do I have another problem? The condenser fan is working also. I can feel the large compressor on the left working however, the smaller one on the right does not give of the vibration that the large one on the left does. Is there something else that I need to check?

Chances are you need to get the refrigerant recharged. This can only really be done by a professional due to the equipment needed. He will also find where the gas is leaking from.

SOURCE: FREEZER RUNNING OK REFRIGERATOR NOT COOLING

Hi, With the information you supplied i'm going to assume there is an ice build up at the rear of the freezer. Your problem is going to be with your defrost system. I will also assume you have the ability to repair this yourself. This is going to be one of three problems with your refridgerator, 1st thing to do is remove shelfs and panel in the back of the freezer...you should see ice build up on the evaporator...don't worry get a hair dryer and melt the ice. Next locate the wires for the heater...using a multi meter test the heater for condinuity...if the heater is bad replace it, If the heater is good replace the defrost thermostat..the stat normally is a barrel looking part clipped onto the evaporator pipe. The last possible problem could be the evaporator fan, have you heard the fan running in the past few hours?..if you are not sure pull the panel out to where you can see fan and watch it over an hour to see if it turns. I have included links with pictures of what the parts you need to check are: http://romulusappliance.com/manufacturers/maytag/refrigerators/575432.JPG defrost stat http://www.hotekalliance.com/UploadFiles/2008627111553382.jpg heaters http://www.applianceblog.com/archives/EvapMotor1018185.jpg evap fan. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. If you decide to get a repair guy in should not cost you any more then $120 - $200 depending on make/model/problem Good luck!

SOURCE: Amana French Door Refrigerator "on" but no cooling; freezer still works

There are 2 possible problems. One is the defrost cycle is not working properly this is usually indicated by a large amount of frost on the back freezer panel. If so, the circuit will have to be repaired and the evaperator thawed to remove the ice build up. The other is the fresh food damper is not working properly this is behind the "lump" in the back of the fridge compartment above the top shelf, remove the louver panel to see if it is open or closed. closed will be warm open should be cold. The water dispenser reservoir is probably frozen due to poor air circulation.

The ice buildup is the problem. Cold air must pass from the freezer to cool the refrigerator.
Link is to youtube videos about that problem.
