Ok, The two screws located on the back side of the control panel in the corners need to be removed. Lift the control panel and let it rest on the hinges. Now will see the lid switch connector in the middlethat just needs to unplug. Locate the two clamps on each end (bronze colored) and unclip them. After those have been removed, tilt the cabinet toward you and it will release from the fram. NOW you wil be able to see and clean the whole thing.
When putting the cabinet back on, make sure the front lip fits under the frame and make sure the rear side panel locks in place on the little tabs on the frame. put the spring clips back in and plug the lid switch in. Set the control panel in place and tighten rear screws.
I hope this helps you. Please feel free to contact me if you need further assistance and please rate my response so that others as well as my self know how I am doing.

    Thanks
    Vic

How do i open the top of a top loading washer

IF you are standing in front of the washer, there should be a slot in the front top center of the machine. Just reach your fingers in there and prop the lid up. If it is locked, try cycling the washer through a load until it is completed and releases the lock.
If you are referring to the entire deck lid, and need to open the machine up, use a butterknife on the front end seam where it clips into the washer and lift up. pressure clips. there may also be two screws in the rear that need to be removed, but you can just pry the front open, and it will lift up, giving you access..

How to get to the basket; think something is inbetween the basket

Hello, welcome to FixYa

To address your question "how to get to the baskey; think something is between basket" you should do as follows...

**First unplug the washer... safety first**

1) the top needs to be lifted, this is best done with a puddy knife or something similar to depress the clips on both sides, i.e. (these tops are quiet heavy and the lid has heavy springs so be careful...leave the top in the "up" position until you can rest the entire top against a wall or something to allow you to work un-impeded as show below as well )

macmarkus_427.jpg
Lean it back if possible...watch that lid again, those springs are heavy duty.

macmarkus_435.jpg
macmarkus_428.jpg
2) remove the re-circulation hose clamp for the top deflector/splash guard...and remove the guard via the clips around the tub.

macmarkus_429.jpg

macmarkus_430.jpg
Pull's off,

macmarkus_431.jpg
3) remove the "agitator" assembly (we'll call it that anyway)...first the cap, then the 7/16" bolt, pull straight up (you may need to wiggle it back and forth until it lets loose )

macmarkus_432.jpg
7/16' bolt,

macmarkus_433.jpg

4) once removed you'll see the outer basket hub, you do not even need to remove this via the philips head screws...sometimes it helps to loosen it, but don't take it off completely. Then the entire assembly will lift out ( again you may need to wiggle it around )

macmarkus_434.jpg
That should gain you access between the tubs. Also I'd suggest you check small plastic cover over the pump outlet/sump area. It's a good idea to remove it and check around or clean out since you're in there.

macmarkus_436.jpg
That should give you a pretty good start or in fact all you need to clear up your problem. Let me know how you make out and we can go forward from there if necessary. Good luck.

I'll be watching for your post on progress/completion.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I believe this model has a belt and I was hoping for tips on how to change it

hi.
you have not said what type of machine you have, so i will do my best to give fairly universal instructions for the 3 main layouts.

first switch off and unplug the machine and disconnect water and waste pipes.

if it is a front loading machine, you will first have to remove the top of the machine. this is usually held on by two or three screws at the back of the machine. the lid should push back and lift off.
hopefully you will see the motor mounted on the top corner at the back of the drum. this is the most common and easiest setup.
if the motor is underneath, or if it is a top loading machine, you will have to turn the on to its back or side to access the motor underneath.

in all cases, the motor is usually held on with 2 bolts. one of which should be in a slot to allow you to move the motor nearer or further away from the drum. loosen these 2 bolts and push the motor towards the drum. locate the new belt on the motor and around the pulley on the back (or bottom) of the drum and pull the motor away from the drum to tension the belt and tighten the bolts. as a general rule, you should be able to deflect the belt by 1/4 to 1/2 inch at the mid point between the motor and drum pulleys.
ensure the bolts are tightened fully and replace the lid if needed.
reconnect pipes and plug in.

if you want to send in the type and make and model of your machine, i can trry to give more specific instructions, but you should be able to change most belts using the above guide.

Need to remove top of scanner microtek scan wizard 5 to clean underside of glass

Follow these steps to clean the scanner :
1

Open up your scanner's lid. It does not matter if the scanner is on or off for this basic, regular cleaning.

2

Wipe down the glass surface with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth. This will remove any dust or other fine particles that have accumulated on the scanner. You should remove excess dust every day or two.

3

Scan a blank sheet of white paper into your computer and look for visible discoloration. A white sheet will provide a clean, blank slate to view the scanner's overall quality. If you notice any irregularities on the white sheet, you need to do more thorough, semi-regular cleaning.

Semi-Regular Cleaning

1

Turn off the scanner and open up the lid.

2

Spray a small amount of "mild glass cleaner" on a soft, clean cloth as recommended by Scanner-Magic.com.

3

Wipe the scanner's glass to thoroughly clean the area. You should perform this semi-regular cleaning at least every two weeks or sooner if a white sheet of paper indicates discoloration.

4

Keep the scanner's lid open for a few minutes until all excess glass cleaner has dried.

The printer is making a gear clicking sound.

I had exactly the same problem with my OfficeJet 6110 as reported above (i.e. the scan head not knowing where the end-stop is). This is how to fix it (this method worked for me) 1) Lift up the scanner/copier hinged lid. Around the edge of the scan glass are 4 Torx screws. Undo all four screws. 2) Carefully prise the control panel faceplate off. The buttons underneath are on a single panel. Slide this to the left and lift off. 3) Jiggle the lid of the scanner to get it off the main body of the printer. 4) Locate the scan engine motor (top right corner) and remove the two motor retaining screws (one on the left of the motor, the other on the right). 5) Lift out the entire mechanism (rod, drive belt, scan head) and turn over. 6) Thoroughly clean all glass and mirrored areas of the scan head. Also clean the scan lamp on the top of the scan head. Clean the tray inside the scanner (where the scan head travels back and forth). Also clean the inside and outside of the scanner glass pane itself. 7) Refit all parts, using the technique described above, in reverse order. 8) Switch on printer. It should now work OK. Hope this helps, guys.

Access the drum to replace felt

To access the drum two screws need to be removed from the inside of the door. The screws are on top of the opening and hold the top of the dryer closed. Then you simply lift the top and slide it to the left to remove it, thus revealing full access to the top of the drum. Then two screws (left and right) need to be removed in order to remove the entire front of the dryer. Once the front is removed the drum can also be removed but for the purpose of replacing the felt removal of the drum is not neccessary. It should be noted that the felt sits only around the bottom of the drum and covers just over half of the circumferance of the drum. The felt should be position in around the opening of the inside part of the door. When replacing the front cover the drum will fit snuggly up against the felt. Replace screws, top and door screws and walla...fixed!

Noisy dryer

tis possible that cons have gotten stuck within the veins( tub paddles) of the dryer drum, if thats the case youlll be able to rotate the drum around by hand and actually hear them tumble around as you turn them around.if thats the case tou will need to unscrew the tub baffles from the outside of the drum remove debris and resecure.DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY
first remove 2 5/16 screws holding the lower access panel. and behind that panel 2 more 5/16 screws. lift that panel foward and it will release from under the main lid(2 clips holdin it in). mark the 3 wiresd and disconnect the door switch.2 final 5/16 screws in either corner is holding the main lid assy down, remove them and your able to flip the main top back. you now have access to the outside of the drum all you need to do is rotate around find the screws holding baffles and clean them out
