    Hi Shuttle83!
Thanks so much for your very detailed reply! I do have a Multimeter but not an Oscilloscope.
Any way we did get a service guy out and it was a fault capacitor. He replaced the whole board cause it was still in warenty.
    (Samsung 330 series)
    Thanks again Fred

Hello, This might be a board with a loose connection or a faulty capacitor on the power board or one of the immediate circuits attached to the power supply board. I would suggest that you have this serviced by a qualified TV Technician. However if you wish to do this yourself, you need the following equipment: 1) Multimeter (to measure the voltages; AC and DC on the various test points on the boards) 2) Oscilloscope (to measure the startup and shutdown circuit ramp voltages) 3) Isolation Transformer (to isolate the Tv from the AC circuit that the test equipment is on) 4) Service manual or schematic diagram (to show where the test points are and what signals and voltages to expect) 5) Signal generator (to generate reference signals for servicing the TV) Now if you know how to use these pieces of equipment your are ready to start, if not again I would advise you to have the set checked by a qualified TV repair technician. I hope this helps Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

My Samsung Series 3 330 did the same thing, exactly, including starting to work again for a brief time. Since it was still under warrantee, I called it in. The shop I was referred to knew immediately it was most likely to be the power supply since this is a known issue with this model.

The tech checked it over and did replace the power supply board. Very fast fix, but also fairly expensive. Suffice it to say that I will be renewing the warrantee when it comes due in September.

Also, if it’s any consolation, the tech (small shop owner) said that Samsung has proven to be a good company for him to work with. He said they handle their parts properly, deal with things quickly and don’t hassle him because he’s a small shop owner not a big conglomerate. (no, I'm not a company shill, I just appreciate good business practices)

I have a Samsung Plasma TV pn60f5300afxza and when i try to open my TV there is nothing on the screen and the red light flashes. The screen doesn't open or nothing

Sometimes on Samsung tv remotes there are input buttons up the top (tv, video, etc. These allow you to control other devices they ARE NOT hdmi inputs like AV1 AV2 etc) ensure that TV Button is pressed immediately before power. It is easy to knock the buttons and choose an incorrect input. Failing this pull out and reinsert HDMI/rca. failing this 1. power cycle the device. If this doesn't work contact retailer/Samsung.

Tv powers on but no picture or sound

Take a flashlight, dim the lights in the room and shine the light on the panel with the set on. If you see a faint picture, you have a backlight problem. If you indeed do not have a picture or sound, you could be looking at a bad power supply or main board

How to tune universal remote rm-300f+ to my tv

How to do an auto search for a Livewire Rm-300f+ Universal Tv Remote. These cheap (£1.00) remotes are available from poundland, etc.

1) Turn on your TV, ensure it it tuned to a channel and the sound is on.
2) Press the [set] button for about 5 seconds, until the LED stays on.
3) Press the MUTE button, the LED should flash twice.
4) Point towards the TV and press the power button. Don't worry if nothing happens.
5) Press and release the power button every second or so, eventually (for me about 120 times) the sound will go off. NOW press the [set] button to confirm your setting.
6) Pressing the power button again should switch the TV off. If not you're going to need to go through it all again.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.

Confirmed with Samsung tech support. Problem is with remote. to fix, simple take the batteries out of the remote. Press and hold the UP Volume button for 2 Mintues (no cheating, it has to be at least 2 minutes), this Reset's the Remote Control. Put the batteries back in. Bob's your uncle. all fixed.
