Question about Samsung LN-S4692D 46 in. LCD HDTV
Samsung TV 330, power light is on but press the power button (on the TV or remote) and nothing happens (power light flickers a little sometimes). TV actaully started working again one time but now nothing! Its brand new from Circuit City (8 months old).
Hello, This might be a board with a loose connection or a faulty capacitor on the power board or one of the immediate circuits attached to the power supply board. I would suggest that you have this serviced by a qualified TV Technician. However if you wish to do this yourself, you need the following equipment: 1) Multimeter (to measure the voltages; AC and DC on the various test points on the boards) 2) Oscilloscope (to measure the startup and shutdown circuit ramp voltages) 3) Isolation Transformer (to isolate the Tv from the AC circuit that the test equipment is on) 4) Service manual or schematic diagram (to show where the test points are and what signals and voltages to expect) 5) Signal generator (to generate reference signals for servicing the TV) Now if you know how to use these pieces of equipment your are ready to start, if not again I would advise you to have the set checked by a qualified TV repair technician. I hope this helps Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

My Samsung Series 3 330 did the same thing, exactly, including starting to work again for a brief time. Since it was still under warrantee, I called it in. The shop I was referred to knew immediately it was most likely to be the power supply since this is a known issue with this model.
The tech checked it over and did replace the power supply board. Very fast fix, but also fairly expensive. Suffice it to say that I will be renewing the warrantee when it comes due in September.
Also, if it’s any consolation, the tech (small shop owner) said that Samsung has proven to be a good company for him to work with. He said they handle their parts properly, deal with things quickly and don’t hassle him because he’s a small shop owner not a big conglomerate. (no, I'm not a company shill, I just appreciate good business practices)
