Unfortunately I am sorry to say that your drive is likely history, The "heads" of a HDD float over the disks with less tolarance than the thickness of a single human hair, something as small as a single speck of nearly microscopic dust can irreparably damage the disks making them unreadable, sounds like dropping the drive has causedd the non spinning disks to be scratched by the reading head....cannot be fixed...sorry....
If there was important info on the drive that you need, there are companies out there who will attempt to recover at least part of the data, but it is not cheap and likely at least a good portion of your data will be lost anyway....

You have lost your fat file and, have possibly scratched the disks the scratching sound you hear is the heads searching for the fat file. if you have important files on the drive send it to a recovery service if not you may be able to refomat the hard drive and, use it again

Hi there, the red light on my ps3 is blinking and it wont take disc either. So what is the problem with it? thanks!

The Red light is due to the HDD (hard drive). There is one of 2 problems: 1. The connection is loose or 2. The HDD is just bad. This was an issue that has been discussed over in the Playstation forums and it seems that re-seating (removing & reinstalling) the HDD has solved the problem for many but some people have just received bad hard drives period. If you reinstall the HDD & it still beeps 3 times & gives you the red light, then you will have to replace your HDD. If I remember correctly, PS3s use Hitachi Laptop Drives. IMO, Hitachi is not well known for good drives. I replaced mine with a 160GB Western Digital drive I got for free a few months ago. I haven't had any problems since. Hitachi makes a good drive, but the ones that fail seem to fail really bad. Western Digital seems to make the best drives and

At boot up press F2 to enter the BIOS. That is where the change has to be registered for your PC to recognize the new HDD. So when you get the first meny there you will find the HDD. If not, then auto detect the HDD. Within a second or two your new HDD will be recognized. Also from the back of the new HDD. ie, the Seagate, check if the Seagate is the master. If not, then you will find a diagram there which tells you how to change the jumper so that your HDD will behave as master. And I hope you are not using the other HDD as well?

ASUS P4S533 mother board not supporting full 160 gb

This is happing becuase of your motherboards BIOS !
Really, this happened to me too. You see, our motherboards which are very old cant support above 80 and so on. This is beacuse of the BIOS. You will need to update your BIOS inorder to give new features.

Try go to the Asus home page and download the latest driver for your motherboard. Then install it in your motherboard's BIOS. There is intructions for this in the Asus's home page.

You need to change the Audio / Control Head, as well as the Pinch Roller of the machine. A worn out Audio cum Control Head will reflect in poor tracking and so will cause the above problems.
