I have a westinghouse ltv-19w6 that i am using as a monitor. have had it for several years and it has worked beautifully. i leave it on most of the time. recently, it has been shutting itself off and when i turn it on by the button or the remote, it makes a sizzling sound through the speakers, then tries to come on and then goes off again on its own. sometimes if i play around with it long enough, it will come on, stay on and work great until i leave it on for an extended period, then it goes through the above again. is it simply "burned out" from the amount of time i have left it on? or does anyone have any ideas on what else may be wrong with it? thanks in advance,
Jane
You need to take this unit in for servicing,it has a failing power supply board, it may just need a replacement of some capacitors and voltage regulators. You should not use the unit when it has this type of problem. The reason is, it might power surge and take out a lot components when it does. You can go to the westingtonhouse customer support website at www.westingtondigital.com and go to the customer support section for help with your problem. You can also call customer support at this telephone number 1-800-701-0680. give them the model number of you television and they should be able to tell you where you can get it serviced. I hope this information has helped you with your problem.

If a generic brand remote doesn't list "Westinghouse," you're going to have to order a factory original. Went to Comcast site, scrolled down, and it said Westinghouse is........0463
Power supply has capacitors vented/swollen that needs replacing. Seen several posting asking how to fix. I replaced (2) 220uf 25v and (2) 1000uf 25v caps and the unit works fine now.
An email from Westinghouse that fixed the problem for me.
Thank you for your inquiry.
We apologize for any inconvenience in waiting for our response, but below is what I can suggest to move forward.
It appears all you need to do is run a channel scan on the unit. Once you have run a channel scan, you will be able to scroll through the channels using the channel up and down buttons.
