Do you know how often , there can be no connection and it is not the CPU? about 99% of the time. The first thing to check is to get fair quality volt-ohm-ammeter and check the voltages. There is almost always a +3.3V (brown), +5V (red), -5V (white), +12V (yellow), -12V (blue), +5V-SB (purple), Common (black), PS-ON (green), PW-CK (orange). This will give us an idea, if the Power Supply is functioning. If so, then you neeed to check all the plugs that come out of the Power Supply and make sure that they all are well push into their connectors. You should turn the computer off, any time that you will be checking, not so much the voltages, but the plugs. If there is a spark, it could have disasterous reprications with all the high impedance parts, including the CPU. Please, gather all this information and communicate it to me. My e-mail is and my name is Constantin. Please note that I have not established my position here with the management, so, all of what I said may be modified by them.

    Hi there,
There are plenty of reasons as to why a computer will not switch on, please can you give us as much details as you can, for example does the computer receive power or are there any LED indicator light that light up when the power button is pressed?

There are a lot of reasons it might not turn on. You need to give some information about the problem. Exactly what happens when you try to turn it on and what you have tried to fix it.

Is there power at the electrical outlet?
Is the computer plugged into the electrical outlet?
Is the power cord plugged into the computer?
Is the computer power supply turned on?
Are you pressing the power button or the reset button?

I will assume you confirmed power at the outlet. so is there power coming out of the power supply? if yes then the problem is the MOBO

L7VMM3 motherboard is it upgradable?

Hello here is the homepage:

This mainboard uses socket A 462 cpu type.
Look for a amd athlon 3000.
The duron is too slow.
As you know this is only single core.
This cpu can not be bought new anymore.
But a used can be found.

You can upgrade the ram to 2 gb max.
It uses ddr ram.

Good luck

Upgrade the 1.6GHz CPU on L7VMM2 Motherboard

ECS Support > L7VMM2 motherboard > Main Support page,

Click on the CPU tab.

(Features / Specification / Download / Support / FAQ / CPU / etc)

Will support Up To an AMD Athlon XP 2600+,

Maximum Front Side Bus support is 266Megahertz.
(Max FSB = 266MHz)

(Motherboard manual states 133MHz.
Note that AMD processors are 'Double-pumped'.
This = 266MHz )

Supports AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon XP, and AMD Duron, processors.

Note in the CPU Support chart where it states -
Socket 462 > AMD Athlon XP > 2600+ (.13u)
The .13u stands for 130nm core architecture technology.

(nm = NanoMeter.
1 Billionth of a Meter )

For the Socket 462 (Socket A) processors, the AMD Athlon XP models are the top of the line.

'Sempy', or Sempron processors are at the bottom.
Low L2 processor memory cache compared to Athlon XP or Duron models.

yes, it is possible, but the Front side bus will limit the functionality so much that it wouldn't be worth it.

I have a L7vmm3 motherboard - everything is

If you have onboard video disabled in BIOS, then the driver can't find the video chip.

Enable onboard video in Bios and you should then be able to install driver.
