Question about HP Tablets & eReaders
I have degraded my laptop (hp tx1000 notebook - AMD) from Vista Home to XP Professsional...Now I am unable to hear a sound or video....I am not sure which drrivers to download ...to make it work and where are they available....Its been three days I am trying it....but all in vain....please advise
Unfortunately, there is limited driver support for the HP Pavilion tx1308nr. This means that HP intended for you to use Vista only. Additionally, HP does not provide driver support for all the hardware onboard for this particular model laptop.
Your best bet is to revert back to Vista and shut off all of the unnecessary services that will likely hinder the laptop's performance. Your other solution is to purchase a product called Driver Detective, which attempts to locate missing or outdated drivers for you. Unfortunately, this is not a definite solution and it costs money. Goodluck

Just looked around for you.
Unfortunately there are drivers for XP but none of them seem to enable you to hear sound but they have everything for Vista which is strange. Only reason that could be is that it is aimed specifically for Vista only.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Lost user password in XP with
networking set-up on HP
The best way to do this is using the
Offline NT Password & Registry editor.
You can download it at the following link: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/
This utility will enable you to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your Windows NT/2k/XP/Vista etc. system.
The link above includes some directions on how to use this utility.
Hope that helps.
