Question about Maxtor Hard Drive
Remove and re-attach the data (flat ribbon) cable to the hard drive. Heating and cooling cause poor conections to ecome no connections. By removing and re-attaching the data cable, you remake the connections. You may want to do the same with the power cable connections. If this does not work, my experience leads me to think the hard drive main board is dead. If this is the case, the drive will not be recognised. If the drive itself is dead but the mainboard is good, the drive is recognised but will not read/write. Heat is a real nasty hard drive killer.
