Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I am an elderly woman and received your Selphy CP 760 as a gift. ince most of my brain cells have "passed away", I asked my son to help set it up for me. The directions weren't clear to me. After much cussing, reading and punching buttons he said "OK, hit print which I did. After 5 of the same picture came out (I only wanted 1) I yelled for him and he merely came in and pulled the cord out of the wall. NOW, how can I get it straightened out, PLEASE. I saw that he had "ordered 100" prints!! I'm afraid I could damage the printer if I try to do it myself. Can you help me?

I received your instructions but it appears that you think I mean a printer on my computer which is not the case.  What I'm having the problem is the Canon SELPHY CP 760 Compact Photo Printer which has nothing to do with a computer.  It is brand new and given to me by one of my sons.  It came with a Printing Guide but I find that very confusing.  My son hooked it up for me when he first gave it to me a couple of months ago and it worked fine.  However, I haven't tried to print any more pictures using the memory card from my camera since then and another son tried to set it up for me to print more but obviously messed up and set it to print 100 copies of each picture instead of only ONE.  My concern now is how do I get that out of the printer because I'm afraid if I turn it on again, it's going to try to continue printing until it thinks it has printed the entire 100 prints and I certainly don't want to use up all of that special paper which would use up an entire box (VERY EXPENSIVE)!!  Do you have any idea how this can be accomplished?  Please advisa ASAP.  When I sent my original note to you, I thought I was in touch with the CANON COMPANY that made this photo printer. I was hoping to hear from them, not a separate "FixIt company."  It isn't actually broken - only I AM BROKEN I guess or just plain stupid.  The printer is guaranteed so I thought they should help get it straightened out for me,  free of charge.  Thank you.

Back to you.  There really isn't anything wrong with the printer.  The problem is that my son set it up to print 100 copies instead of only ONE and now I can't get it out of that mode.  It seems to think it has to complete the "order" for the full 100 so wants to print 95 or so more. It just keeps pushing more paper into position to print until it is unplugged.  Thanks for trying but I will get in touch with the manufacturer directly.  They should make their directions easier to figure out, even for old ladies and dumb kids.

Please just cancel my request for help.  Thanks.

Okay lets see.
I guess the printer is still unplugged.

just follow me step by step and I think we can sort this out
also you don't need to worry about damaging the printer.

Do you have a printer icon in the bottom right corner of your screen? like this one or similiar: I am an elderly woman - 116595e.jpg
Double click it to open it.

Now if you don't have it there or can't find it, skip forward to Numer 2 you don't need to check this in that case,

Now do you see any documents in queue? here's what you should see, with or without documents in the queue
d80cace.jpg
right click with your mouse on top of the document names and select cancel on all of them until there is noting in the queue. when its empty press the x on the top right corner of the window ti close it.

2. plug in the printer and turn it on.

What happens? does it start shooting more pictures out? in that case turn it off or unplug it. turn off your computer and turn it back on again, then plug in the printer again and turn it on.

it should be silent after a moment and shouldn't shoot more photos at you.

3. find any picture or document you wish to print. then open the picture or document. ones you have it on your screen, look for the print button and press it ones or press file and then print from there select your printer and then set the amount of copy's (1) and click print.

what happens at this point? do you get one print or do you get 100?

Thanks for the update, yes I wasn't aware.

Looking at the documents ,where you are looking at the picture you want to print, you should see

at the circle on the picture, you can see the number of copy's of this picture, you will need to adjust it to 1.

the other number next to the circled 1 is the total amount of pictures to be printed.
